so good people. Especially if you're an east coast sandwich afficionado. best bacon egg and cheese sandwich this side of new york city. i kid you not. go check it out. Pastrami is really good. As is the Italian. Only open until 3pm daily but if you give them lots of love I bet they will expand their hours. I give Newkirk's 5 Yays!
Now that's what I'm talkin' about. This is some real deal cheesesteak. Great bread, great meat, great fixins. Welcome to the neighborhood!
This is my go to stop for breakfast almost every morning. You literally cannot go wrong with any of their egg sandwiches. I'm a creature of habit when it comes to food, so I always get the Egg & Cheese with hashbrown. So good! And the poppy seed bun is delicious. Their impossible cheesesteak sandwich is also a yummy option for lunch.
Love this place! I come for the sandwiches but stay for the coffee.
Tried this place for the first time and boy we are definitely coming back!🐎
Did not have high expectations but their egg sandwiches proved us wrong. Had #1 egg sandwich with poppyseed bread and crispy bacon🥓🤤. It was delicious. The hot dipping sauce was also really good. Will definitely come back for more. Dine is also available, fyi. Let's support small business owners!🤩👏🥳
I finally had a chance to try Newkirk's breakfast sandwich that is claimed by many as one of the best in the city. I got the HEC (ham, egg, cheese) and thought it was decent. Taste was superb, but the portion and price weren't as outstanding. I'm also not sure if the soft Kaiser roll is the best choice for a breakfast sandwich, it simply looks sloppy and underwhelming.
Overall Newkirk's serves tasty breakfast sandwich with friendly, no-frills service and is at least worth a try.
The only thing I get from this place is the Green Salad with Bacon. Super addicting, amazing bacon, amazing sauce. And actually they have these little hot sauces on the side when you receive your order and I even add those to the salad and its bomb...Sort of pricey though that's my only complaint, but that's everything in San Francisco lol
Obsessed with their sandwiches - it’s becoming a weekend ritual! When I feel like treating myself I get The Horse on the Roof and I also love their green salads! Great for grab and go but they have inside seating as well.
Don’t forget to try the homemade hot sauces!
Been here twice. I find the BEC sandwich to be a little too big with too much bun. One time I got it with avo and the avocados were slightly brown (a pet peeve though). The hot sauces are delicious. It’s worth trying and my husband really likes some of the bigger sandwiches but I’m still searching for that ideal nyc BEC.
NYC transplant here. Newkirks is officially the best BEC I’ve had in SF and honestly it’s better than an average NYC bodega. Just missing salt pepper ketchup! This scratches my breakfast sandwich itch every time.
Had a roast beef special. Quality sandwich. Good, flavorful bread, tasty and balanced filling, horseradish forward. House-made hot sauces were complex enough and complemented the sandwich well. Decor is clean and simple while still being inviting and the service was friendly.
