Kaka Udon Kitchen

Not sure how this place got rated 4 stars but 4 stars this place definitely is not. Udon was hand made but tasted worse than the frozen udon you can buy at any grocery store. The soup also tasted instant. The owner and staff had almost no knowledge of their menu and the sriracha they had on the table literally had a thick top layer of mold. The name "kaka" is perfectly fitting for a restaurant of this low caliber.

[30-Mar-2013] Courteous and friendly service from beginning to end; Kaka Udon has a cozy feel overall. Be mindful of how much you order if you get stuck at one of the small tables as your meal may overwhelm the tabletop. The small size order when you "customize" is about the size of a cereal bowl at $5; include an "add-on" from $2 - $4. The "specials" menu starts off at around $9. There is a selection of sushi from nigiri to rolls and the menu has more pages dedicated to that than the udon - but hey, one doesn't go to a place with noodle in the name to sample the himachi - it's a fresh bowl of udon ordered up.

Good for late night HOT meal of udon soupy noodles. We ordered a large miso udon and large kimchi udon. The kimchi one comes with more toppings: sprouts, fried tofu, non-fried tofu, one broccoli, seaweed, scallions carrots and of course kimchi. The regular miso udon comes with tofu, enoki mushroom, and seaweed. One can also choose other soup bases such as curry, soy sauce, kombu (seaweed), miso or pork.
