We visited Spices as a group and had the opportunity to sample a wide variety of dishes. The flavors were absolutely delightful, and each dish was wonderfully seasoned and tender. We will definitely be back. If you appreciate spicy and authentic Hunan-style cuisine, this restaurant is worth a visit.

It's good for the area but don't expect a meal of a lifetime. It holds a large group of 8 to 12 pretty well and service is fast.
Overall the food is fairly standard and available widely at most Sichuan places.
Cold beer on tap!
The duck and spicy lamb were the best things we had.

This is the perfect place to get your tastebuds tingling.. I loved my experience and the food here . The chicken wings was fantastic, crisp and crunchy to the core . Friendly staff , clean tables and lots of seating area . Quantity of the dishes also is fantastic, I ordered a couple of dishes and every dish has its own unique taste and flavors. I so so so recommend this place .

Food was good with generous portions. Dining environment was nice. Service was okay, but slow. I believe they were too busy and under the staff.
Authentic Hunan dishes. Recommend the sizzling cumin lamb. Very hot so you might need to ask them for different level of spice.
Will come again to try more.

Top 1 spicy Chinese food in SF , super delicious, exactly the taste 😋😋😋

I can say this is probably one of my favorite locations to get spicy food at. They have a massive variety of food, portions are massive, service is great when you ask them to make the spiciest dishes, and overall we had a great time eating here.

We enjoyed a great lunch here! spicies + rainy day = excellent combination. Mid spicy is sooooo spicy already (we normally have pretty good tolerance for spicy food), really curious about what extra spicy is like. Will be back. Not many people at lunch time on this Saturday, no wait and dishes come very fast.

Always amazing! We always get the cumin Lamb, it's the best. I also highly recommend the ma po tofu, and the green beans, as well as the wontons in hot oil.

I get delivery from Spices often. Often, though not always during peak times, it is great. The wok fried dishes have a good smokiness. The eggplant has a great sear. The spicing of the dishes I have tried are good.

Rejoice all spicy food lovers, this is your place! After multiple failed spicy food I had in SF, I stumbled upon this gem just for its name =Spices.
!! And it was AMAZING !!
The braised chicken meat with chilli pepper($15) was so juicy and beautifully spicy and can just be eaten like that with steamed rice($2). It was plentiful for 2 people.
Next up the chicken wings with explosive chilli($17) was nicely crispy, flavorful and had the 'ooph', beautifully paired with beer n you have your comfort food right there.
Come try, you will not regret!

Love this place. It's actually called Spices II now. Their explosive chili fried chicken 辣子鸡 is frickin addictive, and we always order the dry braised string beans, but everything on the menu is awesome, the tan tan noodle, the fire iron pot, tofu with chives, etc

They recently remodeled the place to look more upscale. Consequently, the prices also went up. The food quality is still solid. Their dry pots here are what to go for.

I got the exploding chili tofu and my husband got the exploding chili fish. They were actually pretty similar in flavor but really, really good. Both are fried with a light crispy shell that has Szechuan peppers in it which gives you that numbing sensation. It's really good, hot, spicy food.

Ordered the fish fillet in hot chilly oil. Definitely serves more than one person. It’s one of the most popular dishes thats ordered here.
