La Palma Mexicatessen - San Francisco - Photo album

Masa products made on-site, fresh daily, and they've been open for over 80 years. Trying a variety of things here is a good idea if you've only ever been exposed to tacos and burritos, but this is truly mexican territory on 24th Street and it may take some figuring out if you, like me, don't speak a
I dropped in at the advice of a local and it was great. I mostly ordered pupusas, and they were extremely delicious and not too expensive. Was able to see the corn dough being rolled out right in front of me. Make a visit!
This place is wonderful!! My coworker wanted mexican food for her birthday party. My supervisor suggested La Palma! She certainly steered us in the right direction. Excellent customer service, the food is fresh, hot, and well seasoned but not overpowering. They make all of their food including thei
Amazing food, reasonable prices. Great place to grab a pint of cooked beans or a stack of fresh corn tortillas. Tables outside to eat your burritos and what have you. The vegetable burrito was great, tho if you don’t want large pieces of carrot, broccoli, and such I understand. Tortilla chips are in
My neighborhood go to place for chili Rellenos and best Chicarrones fried pork. Primarily serving orders to go. Sometimes they have a few outdoor tables.
I love this place. I was introduced to it a couple years ago. It use to be family owned not sure if it still is. The inside of the store/restaurant is tiny, but full of goodies. These burritos are to die for. They set my burrito bar pretty high. The carnitas and taco sonora are delicous. Their torti
La Palma is our go-to place for authentic Mexican tamales, tortillas, masa (for tlacoyos!), and on-the go quality food. Staff are lovely and it’s a nice old-fashioned process: you order at the counter, you pay at the cashier and you pick up at the exit. It works! And the food is delicious. No need t
Best salsa verde (guacamole sauce) around. The tortillas are so tasty that you'll easily eat them plain. Carnitas by the pound are an awesome easy meal. The tortilla chips are damn good too. Get in there now!
The chicharron and guacamole slaps tf outta you. They sell variations (with carnita, querito, etc.) I bought extra because the next day I chopped up the leftovers, fried it with cebolla and chile, and added some cilantro. Don't forget to grab a dozen of tortillas and both salsas. You'll need them f
After a zesty bike ride, the perfect spot for a mid-ride lunch and beer. The tasty burrito supreme with carnitas($8.59) was too tasty to put down and I scarfed it all down, with some tasty orange-hued salsa that was quite incredible. I am told this is the place to buy fresh tortillas. I have no rea
Vegetarian huaraches were delicious! It came topped with a generous portion of grilled veggies and salad. Also, very affordable relative to SF. I want to try everything here!
Not good to eat there, but they have freshly made tortillas without preservatives! That alone earns them a 5 star
Sweet neighborhood spot with traditional Mexican tacos, burritos and huaraches, plus housemade salsas, tortillas chip and a whole variety of Mexican food staples- chicharones too!
Best masa, tamales, salsas, etc in SF ( and they have the lines to prove it)!
I've been going here 40+ yrs. Used to be masa, carnitas, etc. Now it's a burrito place first, groceries second. Good tamales. Haven't had the other menu items yet.
Excellent collection of different plates, as well as many salsas/handmade tortillas etc I had the pupusas and huaraches, both of which were incredible. The piña agua fresca was also delicious. This is a definitely a favorite of the neighborhood.
