Have loved this restaurant for years. Their deep fried pumpkin is amazing! Chicken skewers are super delicious & the beef or chicken param over brown rice is incredible! Plus, the chefs & host are wonderful.
I would give this a 3.5 if it were possible. The menu has a ton of vegetarian options. I tried the vegetarian curry puff, mango panang curry, rad nar and the roti dessert. The mango panang was amazing. The curry puff was good (good flavor and crispy) but I missed a sauce on the side. I did not like the rad nar at all since it was too bland. The roti dessert was good (crispy flaky bread topped with condensed milk and sugar, can't go wrong 😛). This was too much food for two since the portion sizes are big. The decor was nice but the food was served with paper plates and plastic utensils which might throw off some.
The atmosphere is nice, a cozy Victorian turned restaurant. Food is delish! Service is friendly, but really slow because they have limited staff.. I would definitely love to come again.
I have been getting take out here for over 10 years now. It is such a classic family run Thai restaurant. Every dish brings comfort food to the pallet and the upstairs apartment style dinning area makes you feel like you are eating at home.
My favorite dishes are:
- Mango Panang Curry
- Fresh Spring rolls (ask for peanut sauce to dip in)
- Spicy Tofu Appetizer (it's not spicy but super yummy)
Really cute spot on the top floor - easy to miss. We went right around closing for lunch but they still seated us and served us right away. Nice large portions and the thai iced tea was delicious! Will come again :)))
They have large portion and some hard to find dishes here in America that more common in Thailand.
Food was great! Employees very nice, and friendly. Atmosphere very nice, it's an old Victorian house, very clean and cozy. Only complain, made reservation and asked for a window seat, was told they would have one for us. They didn't hold a window seat , nor offered an apology, or any explanation even though we were on time. Only negative we have, but, strongly recommend this restaurant.
Amazing all around! Great food and large portion sizes, attentive staff, and cute decor. Definitely get the crab noodles and the vegetarian curry puffs, and check out their daily specials!
Absolutely love this hidden gem in Haight, it’s my favorite Thai restaurant in the city! Their curry is unmatched, pad see-ew is delicious. Sometimes they even gift us free egg rolls with our order. They’ve only ever seen me in a mask, but I have to believe it’s because I radiate extremely sexy energy.
HANDS DOWN - THE BEST Pad Thai I've ever had!
... home kitchen perfection - you'll be pleasantly surprised! Large portions!
Ploy 2 is our gold standard , the bar that we hold all other Thai restaurants to. The food is delicious, the atmosphere in this Victorian apartment that's been converted to a restaurant is adorable and the family that owns and runs the restaurant are as sweet as can be.
Great service and food was delicious and fresh. I ordered using Grubhub. I enjoyed my tom yum chicken soup and green curry beef. Also, it's the first time I didn't have to reheat my soup in the microwave when ordering delivery from a restaurant. That's how quick and efficient service is. Thank you Ploy II !!
Tasty food, interesting seeing. The menu is typical Thai and the food is done well. It's nothing spectacular but it is a solid choice for Thai in Upper Haight. My only complaint is that their sticky rice is too soft to easily pick up with your hands.
Loved this place. Fresh ingredients, clean taste, very good flavours. Best Thai outside of Thailand. I had mango panang curry: best I have ever had. It is very charming inside, clean, and service was very friendly!
I go here at least once every two weeks and religiously order the Pad Thai! It is a haven. The service here is incomparable and the very fact that I'm writing any sort of review is super telling. Eat here. Bring a date, Bring your parents, Bring some friends, or just solo it
