Yummy dumplings! I don't believe it's true shanghai style dumplings. There are some aromatic vegetables in there that are more northern style. Everything tasted handmade and fresh. It's kind of a hole in the wall place but the wait can be long since the restaurant is small. It was pretty crowded for lunch on a weekday. You know the restaurant is clean when most of the customers there are English speaking.

This is a very cozy and thematic Chinese restaurant in the Southern section of San Francisco's Sunset District. I visited this restaurant with my mother. The restaurant servers are enthusiastic people who gave us a warm welcome and guided us through their favorite items on their diverse selection of dishes.
My mom and I ended up enjoying their Vegetarian Dumplings, Hot & Sour Soup, Fried Rice and Boiled Peanuts. The dumplings were soft and subtly delicious. Their fried rice was cooked perfectly and the peanuts were healthy yet tasty. Overall, the food was great and healthy (low oil, low sodium).
The atmosphere inside the restaurant was gorgeous. The small tables, Chinese tapestry, and wonderful aromas of the kitchen drifting into the dining area transported us to a small, quaint town in China for our lunch. The servers created a friendly environment inside and all the customers seemed to have a wide grin on their face. I felt and still feel so much more pleasure and satisfaction from my experience at Kingdom of Dumpling, but I don't have any more apt words to translate those emotions.

Food: 4/5
Service: 3.5/5
Ambiance: 3/5
Overall: A good place for some dumplings and noodles.
Would I come back? Indeed I would.
The extended review...
Food:
Napa Cabbage and Pork Dumplings - 4/5 - YUM! Can't go wrong with the dumplings here. I mean it's in the name for gosh sakes!
Shanghai Soup Dumplings - 4/5 - Tasty and juicy...just how they should be!
Beijing Bean Paste Noodles - 4/5 - A nice tasty noodle. The bean paste sauce gives the dish a different flavor compared to the soup and usual fried noodle dishes. I suggest giving it a chance.
Service: 3.5/5 - Just like a typical Chinese place...quick service. Like most Chinese places they will try and turn the tables quickly!
Ambiance: 3/5 - Hole in the wall but like most hole in the walls...it's good food!

A nice hole in the wall with delicious dumplings and other appetizer options! There's also a friendly kitty that comes in and out with a cute crochet collar. Highly recommend!

By far, some of the best food you’ll get for the price. The dumplings where absolutely amazing along with the green beans and tofu - there are no bad options that you can go with. The restaurant is a bit small so you might have a wait but it’s well worth it.

One of our favorite neighborhood joints. Friendly owners. Fast service. Always busy but have hardly had to wait for a table.
Sometimes they’ll they to upsell you and get you to buy one more dish (but in a friendly way). And I’m a sucker and give in. So I often leave feeling more full than I’d like 🥲

This place is amazing! Their dumplings are absolute hit, but their pancakes are something else and they’re a perfect pairing dish! Their other items are also made fresh and great from a taste and quantity perspective.
The place is a hole in a wall but it can easily sits a few group of 4. Highly recommend if you’re in the sunset/parkside area and craving some fresh dumplings!

We picked up a to-go order. The restaurant is tiny, but they do have waitlist online.
Everything was made fresh and even though it took us a little longer than ideal to get home & eat (lol trying to find parking in hayes valley), every single thing was delicious once it finally met our tastebuds.
Our order:
C01. Shanghai Soup Dumpling (6 Pcs) $15.90 - my fave
C06 Green Chives Pancake (2 Pcs) $9.95 - 11/10 will def get again
B05 Pork Dumpling with Corn (12 pcs) $11.45 - his fave
B09 Chicken Dumpling with Green Chives (12 pcs) $11.45 - tasty but might skip & try something new next time
D01 Pork and Shrimp Wonton with Wide Rice Noodle (Soup Wide Rice Noodle) $11.95 - my second fave

Open later, which was wonderful, as we got stuck behind an accident on the 101 coming into SF. Pretty quick service, great food, very basic atmosphere. Loved the crazy Starbucks service framed picture they had. Made us laugh! Will definitely return.

Great hospitality and good foods!

Service isn’t that great. Plates, condiments (hot sauce, vinegar, etc.), and tea kettle don’t look clean. However, the food is delicious. I love the Shanghai soup dumplings and the pork dumplings with corn here!

Every time I go to Kingdom of Dumpling, I’m reminded why it’s important to support your local family restaurants in SF. I hope they never, ever leave. Incredible staff and food, and reliable. We are dedicated regulars 💛

This place is very unassuming. Teeny-tiny on the inside, just a few seats. Food came out SO FAST and everything was homemade tasting and so comforting. HAVE to get the beef rolls. Will definitely come back for that and the dumplings!

The food reminded me of local street food in China. We went there for snack type foods like pig ears, dumplings, dry noodles.etc...

Sometimes it's good to get out of your comfort zone and try something new. For me that constitutes getting on the L Taraval and heading over to the way other side of town, Outer Sunset/Parkside(?) way to try a popular dim sum/noodle/dumpling joint with Ms. O called Kingdom of Dumpling. I know, this town is littered with dim sum joints so why schlep all the way from Mission Bay to there? Well, she'd heard it was a pretty good place where folks line up/sign up to eat like it's brunch or something, thus it must be good, right? We decided to try and forgo any line standing/waiting and hit up the place during the week when they first opened. Seems a few other people had this same idea and we weren't the first ones there, but it was early enough that they pretty much seated us all at the same time.

Dumplings on dumplings on dumplings. You want a variety of Chinese dumplings? Kingdom of Dumplings has them.

Probably my cheapest meal in San Francisco this last trip, a plate of dumplings was well under $10. An amazing meal for some cheap and some complicated dumplings. The store recommended dumpling dish, pork with Napa cabbage, had eight dumplings on the plate. The soft dough with the hot stuffing is everything I expect good dumplings to be. After the fourth one though it was getting to be a bit much. Bring friends so you can get a variety and share with each other.

Of course I needed a plate of soup dumplings. These little bad boys are hard to do right so to bite into one of these at this spot and have the hot pork soup burst in my mouth was fantastic. Scalding hot at the beginning, you need to let them cool, but there was good flavor in the broth contained in the dough. I could have eaten another plate of these.

I went out of my way to visit this spot that specializes in dumplings. It's a really small shop so it wasn't easy to find, but I got there upon opening and I'm glad I did. Not ten minutes later there was a line-up of people out the door on a Friday morning waiting to get in. Great deal on some delicious dumplings and I think it's safe to say I'd make the trip again.

Food is ok, nothing too spectacular. To me, it's just another resturaunt. Not that spacious either.

Northern Chinese cuisine and as the name says, this place features dumplings, and you won't be disappointed! So much variety, and they were named one

Kingdom of Dumpling is a Chinese restaurant specializing in dumplings. Being large dumpling fans, we decided to finally give this place a try. There are few restaurants with this variety of dumplings on the menu.

Kingdom of Dumpling's xiao lung bao aren't as pretty as Dumpling Kitchen's, but the skin is a nice thin texture and the soup is tasty with a lot of depth. Dumpling Kitchen's soup was more herbal and aromatic, while Kingdom of Dumpling's version is more rich. One thing's for sure, these dumplings are amazing for the cold weather.
