Sam's - San Francisco - Photo album

Hard to last 50 years of you're doing something wrong. Reminded me of old joints in NYC I'd go to...good double cheeseburger but don't know why medium rare should be difficult in a burger joint with a flame grill. No pink it's anywhere on the rare side was still good but a lost opportunity for grea
Running errands in the hood and I decided to stop by to grab a quick snack. Ordered the cheeseburger and a drink. It’s been a long while since I’ve had Sam’s even though I grew up in the neighborhood. Hands down one of the best burgers you’ll have. Its simplicity is the key to a great burger. Soooo
First time here and ordered: Anthony Bourdain's double cheese burger with fries and beer. I'd like to try other items on the menu hence the 4. Gotta hand it to them, for an area known for Italian food, this burger joint is pretty tasty. Solid, filling, flavorful, and juicy. ~$22 for the set which w
Finally had a chance to try “the best burger in SF”. A solid char burger at a very reasonable price…. But this can’t be the burger Anthony Bourdain was raving about. Oh and despite all the signs about Cash Only, they did accept credit card
I read about this restaurant online and decided the next time we're in SF, we'll dine here and try their "best burger in the Bay Area." Well, I think the best in the Bay Area is a bit exaggerated. Was it a good burger? Yes! But I've had better. The fries were ok. It seemed some were cooked more than
It’s a small joint but no frills burger place. The burgers were freshly cooked and on charcoal. Soooooo good. We also ordered onion rings which were perfectly cooked & seasoned. So yummy! Service is quick too! They accept credit cards :)
Great burger, good price. Def lives up to its reputation. Seating is limited. Lots of locals ordering take away is a good sign.
Stopped in during a work trip with some colleagues after hearing this was Anthony Bourdain’s go to burger spot when in town. Did not disappoint as the double cheeseburger and fries reminded me of every excellent bowling alley cheeseburger I had growing up. Snagged the end 3 seats at the counter and
In town for the Dead & Co. show and had to stop at Sam’s Pizza & Burgers. We immediately had seats at the counter and ordered two Bourdain specials. Our meals came in minutes. Incredibly juicy, well made burgers with ample toppings. The fries were delicious, too. Such a wonderful small counter style
3rd time back and it's so good I always forget to take a picture of the whole burger it's just that good. Great cook great clerks.
One of the best burger joints still in San Fran after so long. Honestly, walked in by a local recommendation and boy to my surprise it was delicious 😋. All i wanted was a burger 🍔 and some old skul fries with a drink but got a beer instead. One of the best places i have gone to in a long time and wi
Out day drinking with the wife and needed an appetizer before the next bar and dinner. Seen the Tony Bourdain quote/ sign/ ‘plug’ in the window for years and finally got a chance to try out the place. It’s kinda like if the Waffle House only did burgers/ fries/hot dogs and beer. The cook/server was
Maybe the burger Anthony Bourdain ate here was a top 3 best burger in the world, but the one I received certainly wasn’t. Thin patties and just overall nothing special. Fries were also meh. But the atmosphere of a long-standing hole in the wall combined with food coming out fast helps its rating. M
Omg, best (double) cheeseburger I've ever had!! I was visiting San Francisco and googled best burger. Glad I picked Sam's. One night I Doordashed it. It came wrapped in foil. I didn't immediately eat it and when I finally did, it was still so juicy! I loved it so much that the next day I went to the
Absolutely delicious and juicy burgers. Plus credit & debit cards are now accepted here.
Honestly, this place is BANGING. Really lovely staff, old school vibes and straight up amazing food. The hot dogs were great and the burgers are famous.
This is a small, hole-in-the-wall restaurant, with an old diner feel. The interior is a bit dated and worn-down, but has its own charm. The walls are covered with various currencies brought from the visitors to this spot over the years, adding to the overall atmosphere. Their burgers are cooked to
