*8/23/2023 This was my second visit to Hong Kong Lounge, and on this occasion, my dining companion and I decided to indulge in their delightful dim sum offerings. We arrived at around 11 a.m. on a Sunday and a modest queue already forming outside the restaurant. I would recommend that those arriving by car consider dropping off their companions at the restaurant first to secure a spot on the waiting list and obtain a ticket. Anticipate a typical wait time of around 30 minutes before being seated. For this visit, I opted for the Dim Sum Sampler, an assortment that included 1 Custard Piglet Bun, 2 Spinach Dumplings, 2 Vegetarian Dumplings, 2 Olives & Yam Dumplings, 2 Seafood Dumplings, 2 Curry Beef Dumplings, and 2 Bunny Shrimp Dumplings. The standout items were undoubtedly the dumplings filled with seafood. They had a delightful blend of flavors, and the dumpling wrappers were wonderfully chewy, adding to the overall satisfaction of the dish. However, I must admit that the Curry Beef Dumplings didn't quite live up to my expectations. Despite their vibrant yellow curry-colored wrappers, the filling lacked the bold curry flavor I had anticipated. I was hoping for a burst of curry spice in my mouth, but unfortunately, it fell short in that regard. 7/28/2023 We went to Hong Kong Lounge for dim sum, a group of 6 of us, and managed to get seated shortly after the restaurant opened at 10:30 a.m. However, there was already a queue when we arrived, so keep in mind that arriving early is advisable if you want to avoid waiting. In total, we ordered 20 dishes, and I must say, all of the food tasted pretty decent! Allow me to highlight a few dishes that particularly impressed me: the Steamed Pork Rib, Sticky Rice in Lotus Leaf, Baked BBQ Pork Puff, and Baked Egg Tart! These were simply delightful and left a lasting impression on my taste buds.

5/5! After browsing Yelp to find one of the best Dim Sum restaurants folks recommended, we landed on Hong Kong Lounge. The Food: With any Dim Sum place I try, I have to get the tried and true, "Shumai" and "Har Gow (Shrimp Dumpling)". I also got many other dishes like "Fried Taro Cakes", "Shrimp Noodles Rolls", "Garlic Pea Sprouts", "Turnip Cakes" and some "Custard Buns". It was a lot to eat, but I had a big group to help. Everything was delicious! All the steamed dishes were cooked/made to perfection, wasn't too oily and the size/portions were generous! My top picks were the Shumai, Har Gow and the turnip cakes! The Service: Service was great! Staff are friendly and very attentive. Upon arriving on a busy Saturday morning, it was pretty packed, so there may be a wait time. However, there is a ton of seating inside. To note, this place doesn't do cart style Dim sum, it's order per sheet. The Atmosphere: Nicely decorated. Can instantly tell that this is a very traditional Chinses restaurant with its decor. There is plenty of seating that goes all the way to the back. Overall, a 5/5! Had a great experience here. Restaurant was clean, the food was absolutely delicious and the staff were so friendly! Highly recommend!

Comparable to other very good dim sum places. I don’t think there’s anything in particular putting this place over the top. If you’re craving good dim sum, you’ll definitely find it at this place. The highlights for me were the chicken feet and the blanched broccoli.

Excellent dim sum served up here. Met up with family on our vacation and they highly recommended lunch here. We braved the rain and cold on a Sunday afternoon. We saw the long lines to get in. And we conquered about a dozen dishes on the menu. Everything was tasty and delicious. Just a heads up that getting water for the table can be a bit slow when they are busy. But otherwise, enjoy. 🤙🏼🤙🏼🤙🏼

authentic then some spot with very classic traditional dishes. I really enjoyed the lobakgo and all the shrimp dishes were very fresh. The kanji was also very sizable and tasty to share

Thursday 11/23/23 Lunch at Hong Kong lounge in San Francisco with my cousins and relatives. Awesome and unique dim sum dishes. Deliciousness wrapped in a small package. There are so many selections. We over 20+ different dishes and have a well versed of tastes so ingredients. I recommend trying this restaurant. You can tell the restaurant is good by the amount of customers waiting outside for a table especially on weekends and holidays. David Young Restaurant Enthusiast

July 2022: Came here for dinner and was very happy with the overall meal and service. It has been a few years since I have been here for dinner. We ordered off the menu and had a great variety. The lobster was cooked very well with ginger and green onions. They brought the live lobster to us before cooking so we could take a look at the freshness 👍. The salt 🧂 and pepper fish was done well. Nice light breading. The tofu with mushrooms and tender greens was very tasty. The fish stir fry with vegetables was very fresh! The soy sauce chicken was delicious! Ong choy was cooked nicely with the fermented bean curd. Walnut shrimp 🦐 was also great. We got oysters stir fried with green onions and ginger 👍. As you can tell, everything was really good! I think because we ordered so much food, they gave us a mango 🥭 pudding free for dessert. It came in the shape of a whole fish 🐠😀. Overall, very delicious dinner!

My brother and I took our mom here for dim sum to celebrate her birthday. They place was busy for a random Friday! Maybe it's because it was Good Friday, but the dinning room was full. While they didn't have the dim sum carts, they did provide a pictured menu and marker for dinners to mark their selections. The menu had both Chinese and English descriptions captioning a picture of the dish. The Dim Sum Sampler is a great start though you'll need to do some cross-correlation to determine what dumplings are in the sample. The dim sum menu had vegetarian options but be aware that some of the dumpling fillings may have pork or seafood mixed with vegetable, so ask the wait staff to double check. Pro tip: use the parking garage by Ross Dress for Less. It's convenient and you won't be fighting for the very limited street parking.

Great affordable place for dimsum in SF. I loved the super rundown tradition interior that reminded me so much of Hong Kong and the great menu with lots of options. For tourists from Asia, pls note that the dishes here come in relatively larger size than in Asia so don't let your hunger trick you into over-ordering 😁

This place is dumpling heaven. I made a reservation so me and my friends didn't had to wait they sat us right away. My first impresión was that the place is beautiful and clean. The servers were great and service was fast. I recommend coming here with at least 4 people so you can try more than one dish. I ordered a lot of different things and everything was delicious my favorite were the baked pork buns, egg yolk buns and the fried green tea ball. Overall I enjoyed coming here, I would definitely recommend you coming here you won't regret it.
