A place you can afford to eat in San Francisco! TL:DR This small, locally run shop has great homemade pastries, donuts, etc. and they make a delicious breakfast sandwich for about $8 (as of September of 2023). If you are looking for a price break from the fancy San Francisco fare, check this out for breakfast. Details: Be warned, this is on the edge of what was referred to by some locals as the "tender-fringe". Right outside of the Tenderloin district, which we were repeatedly warned to avoid completely. If you are walking here, don't continue on past this spot. There were no concerns in the immediate area, but continuing toward Tenderloin is not advisable. They had a buttermilk donut which was huge and amazing! Definitely try it! The breakfast sandwich here was nothing special, no exorbitant spices or fancy cheeses, just fresh cooked egg, cheese, and meat. And it's great! The women running the shop were very friendly, and patient as I decided what I wanted. It was so nice to have an affordable breakfast spot close to our hotel. They are CASH ONLY as many of the local places are, but they do have an ATM in store. Take a break from the overpriced tourist spots and grab a breakfast bite here!

Twice I bought donuts here. Both times I had a mix of regular, chocolate and maple donuts. My son and I loved them. Very tasty, soft and not too sweet. Prices are good and the owners nice. A good place that change from regular breakfast places around in Tenderloin/Union square.

Don't judge this place based on the looks, it's kind of boarded up on the outside and kind of run-down on the inside, but the food was really good, reasonably priced and the old Asian couple who run the place were super super nice. After we ordered, they gave each one of my sons a free donut hole to eat while they waited. Their English wasn't the greatest, but they made up for it by being very charming. The breakfast sandwiches we got were very good, and the pastries were about as good as pastries get.

So far since I've moved in this neighborhood, this is my go to place for coffee sandwhiches and donuts . They tend to be really nice. Donuts are delicious. They have a nice range of coffee from French to Columbian etc. My favorite so far is a Chai latte or French roast. Sandwiches are delicious and made with care. They only take cash but there is a ATM in store. It's smaller in space but worth it nonetheless.

The best donuts from the very nicest people. We loved the glazed twists and apple fritter most. Great treat staying near Union Square. Cash only! Be prepared, but definitely go!! :)

We were staying at the Hilton and read good reviews about Happy Donut so took the short walk over. I had the apple fritter and husband the cheese Danish. They were both the best we've had and it felt good to give to a local shop and not the Hilton empire.

I normally don’t leave reviews but this place was awesome and refreshing in an area where everything costs double what it should. Staying at Hilton and the quick food service they have in here is insanely overpriced and the food is mediocre. This place was fairly priced (for San Francisco), the egg sandwich I had was awesome like the girl working there actually fries the eggs fresh there. I also got a chai latte which was good and a normal size, not like the baby cups they give you for $8 everywhere else. Hidden gem, so close to many of the hotels in the area!

OK, yeah I love donuts. But I'm not some amateur in this field ;) Everyone who has taste buds knows that "Krispy Kreme" donuts are way better the "Dunkin". So in this place here you have to try the "old school" ones and there is another which I don't remember the name, but see my pic ;)
