Favorite coffee shop of SF. They've got such unique and bold flavors. Their snacks are great too!
Hot cocoa was light, but smooth. No powdery taste
As good as in SF, just with longer lines and less space! I wish it were more accommodating for people to stay and work or study, but the vibe is certainly excellent.
This is my absolute favorite coffee spot, with the Caviar app (or I believe they have their own now), you can order ahead and just pick-up your fresh, individualized coffee on your way. Usually the staff is friendly, done with the order early, and you are off. Today was an exception where they hadn't even started my order and I was after the predicted window, seemed like the workers were running around and playing games. Hopefully this will be the lone exception, to a normally great experience.
I absolutely LOVE Philz. Their coffee is top notch. They do not do espresso so be aware of that. But if you are all about an amazing cup of Joe, this is the place to get it.
As oppose to single origin they do blends, and have tasting notes, similar to what you experience when wine tasting. I always have fun letting the server know what I like and getting recommendations, they have never let me know. The only downside is because they are all pour overs it does take longer.
But otherwise the service is great, the locations are clean and comfortable and it is always a pleasant experience. Unfortunately there is not one near my home, or I would surely be a regular.
There's not a lot of space to go around at this location, but it's worth the wait! They have more than a dozen different coffee varietals to choose from and - while I haven't tried all of them yet - I'd be willing to bet they're all great. The service is friendly and prompt, and you get the feeling that people are generally very happy here. Way better than most other coffee chains in my opinion.
Wow, these guys really ARE laid back. Even looking my techie nerdy self, the staff gives off that friendly, down-to-earth vibe that I appreciate. Also, since it was my first time trying any Philz coffee they gave me my coffee for FREE. The coffee was great and with just enough sugar for my sweet-tooth. I normally don't write a review but this place definitely deserves an A+++ !!!
I went on a Saturday and the staff was super friendly. This location appears smaller than others in the city, but there is additional seating across the entryway.
A tad bit expensive for somebody who isn't too picky about their coffee. Philz offers a lot of the drip-style coffee which supposedly has a more nuanced flavor. To be honest, as long as I have some creamer and sugar, I think any coffee is delicious. I purchased the mocha, and it was decent if not a bit expensive. As a basic coffee drinker, it's not bad. For the coffee aficionado, you're going to have to give this place a try yourself!

The only downside is that there is usually a line but, it's well worth the wait.
I would love to take my laptop there and work but, the place is so small and usually full that it is impossible to do.
Either way, the coffee is great!
