Authentic Roman with a penchant for all things italian. The hospitality is unmatched.
My favorite place to eat in the city. I almost want to give it a bad review so people don't come and I have a place to sit. But seriously...I bring all my friends here.
We've now come to this place a couple of times for early dinner on Sunday, and we love it. The place quickly fills up despite it being Sunday evening, and has a great atmosphere. The food is delicious - some great pasta dishes, and the lamb cutlets main is exquisite. Service is friendly. Great options on wine list.
Food was great! Service was fine according to me, but my wife hated it. I'm Canadian, she is Indian; maybe that's the reason ;)
They forgot our orders, apparently.
They charge to cut the cake, which was delicious, but they didn't bake it.
Finally, we had a great time but will try something else next time.
This is a sister restaurant to Delfina that lives up to the expectations. The Italian cuisine is of similar style and quality, and the space is a bit roomier with dim lighting providing a more romantic ambiance. The cocktails are fantastic, and the excellent wine list is composed mainly of Italian wines, with a smaller selection from France and Spain. All of the food, from the appetizers to the mains, is very well done, with the whole fish being one of the restaurant's more unique offerings.
Dinner was delicious. Tried three starters: soft shell 🦀 FRIED SOFT-SHELL CRAB – fennel, poblano pepper, pickled chili aioli), 🍑 with Romano beans (ROMANO BEANS and PEACHES – La Quercia lardo, radish, preserved lemon), and heirloom tomatoes with ricotta cheese (HEIRLOOM TOMATOES and RICOTTA di BUFALA – olive crouton, ). All were a hit! The pizza bread was fantastic when used to soak up all the sauces.
Shared 3 pastas. The spaghetti with Sea Urchin was everyone's favorite (SPAGHETTINI – Fort Bragg sea urchin, espelette chili, chives). The lasagna (LOCANDA’S LASAGNA – bolognese, nettle, parmigiano) was also delicious. The rigatoni carbonara (RIGATONI alla CARBONARA – guanciale, Coastal Hill egg, pecorino, black) was rich and creamy. Only complaint is the portions leave you wanting more.
Ordered the whole bass with the tomato, olives, and capers. That was delicious.
Dessert was the best. Definitely end with the "CUCUMBER MELON GRANITA – tarragon meringa, yogurt crema, melon".
They usually have an Italian menu but their brunch menu is a little more "Californian". Food is uniformly good, nice brunch selection and well size portions. Selection of appertifs is pretty amazing
Great food and service. We came on a whim without a reservation and were able to get seats at the bar. We ordered pizza bianca, ricotta + anchovies, and squid ink paccheri. They were all good!
The appetizers of beef stuffed morels and fried olives were fantastic.
I was expecting a lot from the pasta dish given the restaurants Instagram. I had the Cacio e Pepe which was good but not exceptional.
The wine seemed reasonably priced but I didn't do too detailed of an analysis. Next time is like to try their old fashioned flight.
Had a great night here with my friend! Super tasty pasta and nice dining atmosphere! Love it!
The brunch here is sooo good. The food prices are reasonable and the food itself is delicious. I got the porridge with mushrooms. It was a pretty hearty meal. We also got the hashbrowns. They were good but the portion was smallish.
Great brunch nonetheless.
I've never had a bad meal here. Everything on the menu is wonderful. I highly recommend the fried olives!
