The Chieftain Irish Pub & Restaurant - San Francisco - Photo album

07/2023 Ordered fish and chips and the Irish chicken burger. Very good comfort food on a long evening, hot and filling. The tartar sauce is a good addition and even a great pairing with fries. Service was fast, ambiance was great and calm. Located right at a street intersection so it is hard to miss
Had a lovely time at the Chieftain! Great food and lovely atmosphere and staff! Had the burger and fish and chips and they were really awesome! The bartender was the best I’ve ever seen, absolutely amazing smile and fab service and drinks! Will definitely be back there soon! Kudos team! 🤩
Irish pub feel 💯. What made this a 5⭐ was service and food. Had fish an chips. Deliciously crispy w great sauce. Bartender knew his drinks. Service was super friendly and helpful to where I actually upped my tip. Love this bar.
Authentic Irish pub in the heart of San Fran. The drinks were great and the servers were entertaining. Need fish n chips or corn beef and cabage then this is your spot
I love the Chieftain. It's a great neighborhood pub good vibes, and I stop by every time I'm in SF. The regulars are good people, and there's a great deal of tourists who visit the pub. The food is great, the waiters are prompt, and the bartenders make a mean drink. On holidays, conventions and duri
The Chieftain Irish Pub is hands-down the best pub in SF. I had the bangers and mash when I went in there, and after eating it I knew there was no way I'd leave hungry. The bartenders know what they're doing, the drinks were made perfectly. The waitress was nice and got my order right. The atmospher
There was an event in the area that caused the this pub to be busy BUT, we were seated at the bar in the matter of not even 5 minutes. Food was extremely good! Bartender/sever Richard was a fantastic guy with great service! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED THIS PUB!!
Can't rate this place high enough. Staff are exceptional. Food was amazing. Great variety of drinks and food all very reasonably priced. Highly recommend a visit.
I’ve been coming to the Chieftain for years and will keep coming back. The atmosphere there feels like you’re in a small town local pub, ala Cheers bar, while also being able to hold large crowds during conventions, sporting events and the like. Their staff have always been very knowledgeable and ac
This place is a great cozy pub, but it can get CRAZY on the weekends when they crank up the music. Fun!! The food is delicious. I had the special lamb shank and it was fall off the bone goodness. The service was so nice and friendly. Thanks for the wonderful experience, y'all! See ya soon!!
Great Guinness and a few other Irish beers, can sometimes get really crowded after work on weekdays. Feels like a pub in Ireland. Wasn't a fan of the burger.
Very good! Plenty of drafts to choose from. Happy hour starts at 3. Chili dog and fries, sliders, cup of chili, croquet. Loved the lamb chili, has a nice bite to it.
Great selection of beers even small is a great location for a great end of week happy hour. The place doesn't seem very fancy from the outside but Good ambience and excellent service, take in account that on Friday afternoon could be reserved due to private events
I found this location by using Yelp and Foursquare for reviews because I was in San Francisco for work. When I got to this location it was very family-oriented. I'm not necessarily saying that they're a bunch of kids but it seemed like everybody was close and like they knew each other. The food was
A hidden gem of a restaurant/pub. The staff are welcoming and kind. If you sit at the bar and the bartender Brendon is working, you will have the best conversation and genuine kindness you will ever experience. He was a breath of fresh air in a world that has become so lost. Thank you for making my
The best bar in SoMa, I have to say. Food is really good, they know how to pour their Guinness and they are best at it. Don't forget to try Harp with Shepherd's Pie. They have live Irish music every Sunday. But, the biggest reason to come here is the people, lovelies they are.
Delicious Lamb Chile & Great Caesar Salad with Anchovies. Nice to see clean tables & chairs. And wait staff greeted & served me with a smile.🙂Thank you # 14 Viktoriia
I took the hamburger with bacon and onion rings. The best hamburger of my entire life.
