A small and cozy Italian restaurant with a decent-sized menu, starting were turkey meatballs which were good and had a great amount of sauce, fresh oysters were a great choice but were a small amount for $25 for 4, for the squid ink pasta, it did lack flavor while having an appetizer amount of food. The service was also a little behind as I was waiting for a table for over 15 min even after having a reservation and the waiter forgetting our appetizer order. I would come here only once since just for two appetizers, 2 entrees and a glass of wine was over $220 and not worth that amount.
The duck Casonsei was the absolute best dish I had in all my time in San Francisco. The flavor was impeccable. The other dishes looked great too, but the duck blew it out of the park for me. I tried a bite of the pappardelle and have had better, but still a solid dish. For appetizers, the artichoke arancini was very tasty and the meatballs were fantastic. Would definitely visit again!!
Casual sister to 2-star Michelin Acquerello. Excellent overall aesthetic, wine, food, service. A great date night spot that’s both approachable, fun, and of quality.
We started with two glasses of the Murgo sparkling - light effervescence, soft finish (photo). We then shared three small plates, the crudo, the meatballs, and the budino (photos of each). The crudo and budino were amazing, I’d pass on the meatballs (which was a surprise).
For pasta, we shared the ravioli (forgot to take a photo) and then the hanger steak (photo). For the pasta and steak, we had switched to Borolo. The wine paired well with the steak. And we closed out the night with the tiramisu, which was exceptional!!!!
Highly recommend when you want solid food, friendly service, and a casual/nice vibe.

Delicious and decadent food. Lovely atmosphere. Absolutely the best cheesecake I have ever had in my entire life. And FANTASTIC service. Our server Mara was so attentive and seemed to truly care about the quality of my experience. When I ordered a wine that wasn’t right for me personally, she voluntarily brought some samples to my table so I would be better equipped with the menu so I would know what to order next time, because she genuinely wanted me to enjoy myself while I was there. She went above and beyond.
Overall I thought this place was great! I liked the vibe inside the restaurant. The staff were friendly. I suggest sharing with others in your group to get a broader range of tasting options.
We celebrated our anniversary here recently, and overall it's a nice spot.
The food was excellent. There was a beef and noodles dish, which our server recommended, which was really tasty. The fusilli was good as well, as were the cocktails. We didn't try the dessert.
Service was a little spotty, despite it not being crowded. When we arrived, the hostess asked if we'd like some bubbly to celebrate. We said yes but the bubbly never arrived. We had also ordered some appetizers, which didn't arrive until after our entree when we asked about it.
Hands down, amazing cocktails. The old fashioned was my favorite.
Parmesan Budino was creamy and had the right amount of flavor; getting truffles may be too much. Meatballs were medium rare and the sauce was delicious.
The egg yolk tonnarelli was my favorite dish and that’s what I’ll remember the most. The gnochetti was a disappointment since it felt flat; the garlic sauce was weak and the truffles didn’t add any additional flavor and I left disappointed.
My overall thoughts is that this place is great for happy hour and worth a try!
Great cocktails, delicious food and amazing service.
Would highly recommend this place.
So i wanted to take the wife out to a really fancy restaurant. We've been saving big for this trip and i thought this would be the place to splurge.
The staff was really friendly to be honest. You really aren't assigned a waiter / waitress here. Everyone works in tandem to make sure you have a great experience. We probably had about 5 people help at our table.
The vibe is great. I honestly couldn't believe the stuff people were ordering though. The people next to us, Dad, Mom and 2 daughters. They must have spent atleast $100 each. Plus a $55 Bottle of Wine. What the heck do these people do for a living.
So i got the Meatballs, because that was something that looked appealing and wasn't too bad on the wallet. It was solid, it filled me up after eating a burger and burrito already that day. My wife got the Ink spaghetti looking thing you can see in the picture. She had no complaints and said it was fantastic. We also got the cheapest bottle of wine... &65. Or $55 i can't remember. What does it matter though. It was great wine, got us both pretty drunk by the time we walked out of there. I wouldn't go back because i can't afford it, but if you make alot i highly recommend.
The food at Sorella is delicious. The service is top notch, too. The reason this place does not rate five stars is the high price to amount of food ratio. A dinner for four that left us all still quite hungry set us back $360.
