Wednesday morning at around 9:30 am was not busy at all. A few tables and bar seats were taken, but we were seated immediately. We got the pork store special and the chicken fried steak. Both were ok. Prices were really good.
Hung out n front on Haight while they set up to open at 8a. I liked everything about it. Both the counter staff & short order cook were great at what they do. Omg how did I not know about this jewel right around the corner from my home? From the minute I walked in the door and saw my waitress wearing a USF Don’s Women’s Soccer shirt it felt like home! 4 of us had lunch and ordered different things. My pork chops were excellent. The chef cooked them just like i asked for. I hate dry, leathery meat and these were tasty and still moist and juicy.

The food was fresh and very flavorful.
I got the eggs Benedict with Chile piquin sausage it was super flavorful and spicy.
The hashbrowns are cooked to perfection.
I also liked the fact that I was offered a to-go box to donate the food
Update 7/1/2023: The smog check for my Tacoma pick-up truck was due and I was in the neighborhood at Quality Tune-up on Fell St. Too bad their smog machine is broken and I went to the Pork Store because I knew they would be open early and I could sit down and find another smog check station. Cozy diner with inventive breakfast menu. Like grits—but hash browns, too. Counter has 15 seats.
A small unassuming place but the food and the general ambience is excellent. I'd suggest to sit at the counter and watch the meals being prepared. As an international traveller, I enjoyed every bit of our breakfast experience. Parking is hard to find but not too much of a hassle. The staff is court
Our first meal in SF this weekend! The food was phenomenal and we sat at the counter, watching all the action happen. Loved all the humans crammed into a small space, eating tasty, greasy food together. Would recommend for the best diner experience in the area!
