I had the Wisconsin sourdough burger with garlic fries. It was very yummy. The flavor combinations were great. I asked for extra crispy fries and they were perfect. I’ll surely be going there again.

I haven’t had red meat in 7 years. I had given up on hamburgers. We tried the “impossible burger” it was beyond amazing!! Never had a vegetarian burger that tasted and looked like a hamburger. It was heavenly! Thank you! Open a location in Utah!

I highly recommend Gott’s. Its a lively place with an order counter and open kitchen. The menu has good quality burgers, sandwiches, soups and beer. Their ahi tuna sandwich was delicious. It’s in the ferry building and has outdoor seating. It’s a great option in an area where there is mainly mediocre touristy food or very fancy restaurants.

I had some trepidation as to what we were getting into: huge line out the door waiting to order. Then doing the loitering/hovering/diving to secure a table. After that - one of the best burgers I've ever had! The day we were there they had Street Corn on special, so we got that too. It was special! Overall the food was great, and with patience, it was a good experience.

The line was just right when we arrived, two people ahead, but it quickly grew as we were eating. The food was great, with the meat tasting fresh, the cubano I had had the right crisp toast. The garlic fries was not as crispy as I thought it would. A great place to grab a quick lunch

The Walnut Creek location was my first gotts experience and it seems very poorly run and disorganized, the fries were soggy and staff almost non existent. This embarcadero spot is well worth the wait in line for a juicy burger and fries. I was pleased woth the friendly cashiers and staff. Will be back!!! 😎

Gott's Roadside SOFT SERVE ICE CREAM is worth a try especially for tourists.
The taste and texture is just oh so perfectly intertwined that a cup of it would urge you to shout for more!

The Ferry Building, that bastion of food and stuff on the Embarcadero, drawing tourists and locals alike. Particularly for their Saturday farmer's market, which, as someone who lives nearby, is kind of interesting and I would recommend it if you haven't been. I actually used to work there for one of those places (which shall not be named) that sold a food product. It was always a bit of a challenge as eating there is not cheap. There are some good spots, but let's face it, prices are not exactly worker friendly.

It was a beautiful day in San Francisco and we ended up at the Ferry Building to grab some lunch. The ferry terminal has so much to eat, but we were on a mission to find Gott’s Roadside since we were told by several friends they have some awesome burgers. We ordered our items at either the left or the right side of the restaurant. They have 2 counters to take orders.

The California burger was ok and so was the California sandwich. The shakes were good and the roadside ambience too. Get here in time or else be ready to wait in long queues.

Great Variety, Delicious Burgers. I love a good burger, and this place is the real deal. I went with my friend who is a vegetarian and we both had burgers we were very satisfied with. I was still thinking about this place on the plane home!

Fricken Good. For an Albertan Gal, these burgers were fricken amazing served with sweet potato fries!
My sister and I were fresh off the plane, just checked into the Hyatt and off for some amazing San Franciscan food, boy were we impressed!
San Francisco-your food is awesome! Never a dull moment.

A sad note: I can see why USA faces an obesity epidemic, your food portions are huge!

It was AMAZING. I had the Wisconsin Sourdough and it was delicious! Exactly what it was described as on the menu, a Burger sandwiched between two grilled pieces of sourdough bread, with bacon and mushrooms.YUMMM.
Be sure to try the Garlic fries they are out of this world!

Eat at Taylor's!!. This is my ABSOLUTE FAVORITE restaurant. Everything on the menu is great but make sure to try the ahi burger! I've been known to drive up to 2 hours to Taylor's Refresher just to get my ahi fix :)

Good Food, Nice Surroundings. This isn't the best burger that I've ever had but it's pretty good. Definietly above the standard fast food crap. However, the service is still a little slow.
The surroundings are also lovely. With the weekend markets and the harbourfront activity, this is just the thing you need to round up the day.

The garlic and sweet potato fries (served with housemade ranch dip) were my favourites and the chocolate milkshake Bebe had ordered tasted like rich chocolate ice cream. I shudder to think of the calories we ingested at this establishment.

After a dismal restaurant lunch experience at Boulevard we returned to casual eats on the third day of our San Francisco sojourn. Having skipped breakfast and eager to avoid the lunchtime rush we rocked up at Gott's Roadside in our beloved Ferry Building shortly after their opening time of 1030am. Formerly known as Taylor's Automatic Refresher, it originated as a family-run roadside fast food stand in St. Helena which is still serving today (along with the SF branch and another outpost in Napa's Oxbow Market). The headliners are their burgers but the menu is vast, including hot dogs, sandwiches, tacos, salads and fried tidbits, all made with fresh artisanal ingredients, some of which are directly sourced from the restaurant's St. Helena garden. There's usually a line snaking out the door but due to our early arrival the place was completely empty so we leisurely placed our order and took a seat with our drinks (Iced Tea and Homemade Lemonade) and waited for the portable buzzer we were

Another Triple D by Guy Fieri recommendation, to be exact he filmed at the Napa location but nonetheless the one at the Ferry building is closer. As expected the joint is jumping with FiDi workers and a slew of tourist capturing moments on their dSLRs.

I ordered the Ahi Burger, which was the priciest item on the menu. The seared tuna’s flesh was pleasantly pink and a refreshing alternative to a standard beef patty. I’ve consumed a lot of seared tuna in my days, but never in between two pieces of bread s

Nice atmosphere, good food, fair price and average personal. It was quite crowded so we had to wait around 20 minutes to receive our food. Salad was good but we didn't like the chicken on it. Burger was also good even though it came out rather cold. We also ordered sweet potato fries that were not specially good.

The flavor combination of the chicken, picked turnips, mint, cucumber, and mixers greens in the Chicken Schnitzel Sandwich is unbelievable delicious. It’s such a unique combination of flavors and ingredients, and all of them blend beautifully together. The fries aren’t the best but also aren’t bad, and the kale Cesar salad is also very good. Definitely order online ahead of time because there will be a long wait especially on Giants game days. It’s a bit pricey but definitely worth it. When it comes to high quality American foods that’s fast, Gott’s is highly recommended!

I love this place!! You can never go wrong with any of the classic burgers they have on the menu. The fries are really good too! This place usually where I would go for a cheat meal but recently I tried their salad options and they are also very delicious… the Vietnamese salad was surprisingly yummy and the fried chicken they give you with it was so good. If you’re visiting the bay, I would recommend trying this place out if you’re near the ferry building. It’s a good meal if after having a couple drinks haha

In a word: crowds. Let me start off by saying that the pace in line for ordering your food was not a good experience. Because the person we got was basically acting like a human robot! He never looked up from his cash register, he immediately yelled at us to order our food (which we barely had time while in line to look at the vast menu). All I could think of was I sure hope the food tastes better than the customer service! We did get our order done finally and waited a good 30 minutes before we got our food, and when we tasted our food we all enjoyed what we ordered. I think I would eat here again but will definitely avoid that one cashier (an older Asian guy)! The views outside of the restaurant were nice as it looked on the busy streets and it also had tables on the side of the restaurant overlooking the ocean as it is located at the end of the Ferry building!

We tried Gotts at the Ferry Building on our last evening in SF. We had a couple of the Kimchi burgers, a couple of Bacon Cheeseburgers, the garlic/rosemary and sweet potato fries as well as the Chocolate peanut butter milkshake. Loved it all. Especially the Kimchi burger and the shake.

Tasty burgers, plenty of seating. I had a normal hamburger here and my total was a little over $10. The food is made to order. My order was ready about 15 minutes after ordering, which is longer than I expected. They also sell a variety of other items and even have a selection of alcoholic beverages. If you want something to drink for free, they have a water station. There's no restroom, but you can find restrooms elsewhere in the Ferry Building. There's plenty of indoor seating, but if you sit outside, you'll get a decent view of the skyline.

Great lunch spot in the ferry building with plenty of seating inside and outdoors. When I got the impossible nuggets & fries I was worried wouldn’t be enough food, but I was stuffed. not stuffed enough to pass on soft serve though 🥴They have a separate line inside and the oatly vegan chocolate was the highlight of my week. I am bummed there aren’t more vegan/dairy free options, like they have impossible patties but you’d have to get it in a lettuce wrap and the cheaper veggie patty has dairy?? it is a burger place so having 3 options isn’t the worst, but at $13 without fries I’d rather go to a Super Duper.

10/10 recommend!! Really good food, for a great price! I had the blue cheese western burger, and it was perfection. One of our kids is allergic to dairy, and the other REFUSES to eat anything cheese has touched (he's missing out!). Their burgers came out with cheese, and they were super nice about it. The kids loved their burgers and fries! There's a variety of seating, high bars, tables, and outside benches.

With so many options to explore in San Francisco- Gott’s did not disappoint at all. In fact I was impressed on the taste and solid options to enjoy. Had the soft crab sandwich and it was sooooooo delicious. Garlic fries were on point. They have a great selection of beers on tap(Pliny the Elder to name one👊🏼) soft serve ice cream was a great way to top the lunch experience. Enjoy!!!

Nice place. Casual dining in the Ferry Building along the Embarcadero - the outlet looks out on the road in front and you can watch the people and the tramcars go past. They have a good selection of daily specials, sandwiches, wines and more. Overall its good value for money especially given the location. The service was a little slow though!

I got my orange cream float and yes this beverage is exactly what I needed for the day plus the service is wonderful. What more can you ask for on a beautiful day like today in San Francisco? Located at the Ferry Marketplace with a restaurant on oneside and an ice cream shop inside. There's also an outdoor seating area with a nice view of the skyline as well as a few pigeons to greet you. They do offer free samples on the ice cream side and an extensive menu which consists of organic shakes, salads, an impossible burger and a whole lot more. If visiting San Francisco like I am, this is definitely a great location to stop by for dining before or after hoping on the ferry.

It's hard to rate chains with 5 stars, but this place totally deserves it. The food is fantastic, excellent burgers, and love the fact that I can grab a beer while I'm there (good selection of drafts too). And you can't beat the location, outdoor seating and people watching at the ferry building while enjoying a great burger I'd an awesome experience. If you need a quick bite and your around here this should absolutely be on your list!

I had just an order of mahi mahi tacos at lunchtime. When I walked by the first time, there was no line. When I came back 10 mins later at 1145, chileeeee, the line! It took a little while to get them but they have a great system to keep things moving + plenty of room to wait. They do warm up the tortilla, if you worry about that like I do (they stack 3 of them on one). I’m sure there’s a reason to leave the cilantro on the stalk but I picked mine off and put all of it on with a lime slice. It was cool! I like the spice they use on the fish. Idk if it was worth the price for 2 but maybe. The orange slice was a nice touch.

Fast service at counter with a variety of options. Can get crowded but plenty of outside seating. Western burger had a nice toasted bun with juicy meat. Cuban special had nice ham with cheese. Garlic fries with not too much garlic and Onion rings which did not fall apart complemented the meal. Also had a sweet pineapple caramel shake.

5 mth update. Still great. Anyone who thinks prices are high here and the burgers are great here doesn't know San Francisco. The Wisconsin Burger was incredible:. all locally sourced ingredients, 100% Niman Ranch beef, at least 20% fat, extremely flavorful, perfect real crispy bacon (4 or 5 strips), sharp aged Cheddar cheese. Worth every penny. Chicken tenders and fries exceptional. About 15 parties ahead of me on a busy Sunday at Noon, extremely well organized and fast moving line. Large indoor and outdoor seating area, perfect for larges groups of 8 to 12. California wines by the glass, lus one French Rosé and a Washington Cabernet. 9+ draft beers on tap. Excellent fast bussing and cleaning of tables. Large open California kitchen, with a 30+ seat counter looking into it through clear glass. Anyone who thinks the food is exotic doesn't know SF Bay Area / California cuisine. The Ferry Building is iconic. Walking through it at least is a must. Beautiful views of the Embarcadero and City skyline. Giant projection TV with Sunday football playing at the far end, but with no sound, so it was totally unobtrusive.
