The Brazen Head was first introduced to me by a male friend who lived nearby. Despite his preference for upscale places, I was surprised when he suggested we dine at the pub for our late dinner date. Upon entering, I understood his fondness for the place. It exuded an old-school charm and a hint of dark allure, perfect for a post-dinner engagement or nightcap.
The bartenders were excellent, crafting superb Vesper martinis. The menu's standout item was the delicious prime rib sliders. It's a local hangout known for its cool, chic, and worldly atmosphere. The diverse crowd of locals and tourists, adds to its appeal.

This is one of the best local steakhouses in sf. Came here for my birthday dinner and seriously had one of the best meals of my life. Pepper steak is incredible. Bread was amazing. Cocktails super strong and good.

It can get loud, and you might catch yourself shoulder to shoulder with other patrons on a Friday night, but it's worth it. Once, a place where restaurant workers would go to after their shift. Now, it's where many of the cities young set meet for a wonderful martini and steak. It's low lit and has a romance that can bring you back in time. May it never change.

This place is amazing! Great price for a delectable filet mignon. Save room for the fallen angel torte, a must have for chocolate aficionados. Even the coffee is incredible !

I really wanted a place to have a good ol fashioned steak and potatoes meal that didn't look like an iPhone store and filled with stuffy people, and boy did they deliver! My steak was perfectly cooked, the onion soup was insane and the service was attentive. Love the old school and comfortable atmosphere. Definitely a place to check out!

This is such a find. We are staying nearby at the Hotel Del Sol and wanted to eat locally. So glad we did, as this is a really excellent restaurant. The steaks were fantastic, cooked perfectly with delicious sauces. Both kids had meatballs and said they were the best they'd had. We went for desserts too and the chef nailed it again, with delicious carrot cake, fallen angel torte and creme brulee. Highly recommended.

Food is delicious!!! Definitely a must try if you're in the city. Great service, our waitress was very attentive but I wasn't a fan of the atmosphere. It's a bit dark and tight space.

Had dinner here for date night. It's dark but cozy and gives off old school vibes. We ordered escargot to try and they were super tasty! For my dinner, I got the NY pepper steak and enjoyed it. Even though the bar looks amazing, their cocktails are not great. I got a $12 whiskey sour that tasted like a $5 dive bar drink. Maybe I'll have to try a different cocktail next time or maybe I'll just stick to wine. Service was good but the tip recommendation was a bit ridiculous - something like 20%, 30%, and 40%. Overall, we enjoyed date night here.

I have been celebrating my anniversary here for at least 25 years. I cannot begin to tell you how wonderful the food and the service and the all over atmosphere is. I recommend this Bar/restaurant to anyone who appreciates a great place to socialize. Filet mignon is worth every penny!

This is like Cheers, smal neighborhood place dark ambience so everyone looks good! There is something magical here, like going back in time. Eddy, Michael and the Hostess all a constant for MANY MANY years. Michael is truly like watching an artist at the bar..little time for small talk when busy...but fair enough. He is amazing. Pepper Steak our thing when we go from Sacramento...as we love it so much....can’t seem to order anything else. Onion soup to die for...actually in 30 years never a bad meal...not sure if that are cocktails talking or the truth! Don’t go in and try to throw you weight around...they don’t care who you are...just focused on turning out a great product, having fun with the locals and doing what they do best. Wish we could go tonite again!

My husband and I love to find late night eats through out the Bay Area, so this was a very cool little spot to find. You would almost miss it if you didn't see the address on the door. I loved the lighting and the small, cozy atmosphere. The food was great! The Ahi Tartare was our favorite by far!! Almost had to order it twice! We also liked the Shrimp & Lobster Bisque and the platter with Cheese, garlic, bread, prosciutto & peppercinis... it all paired great together! Then we had the Filet which was cooked to perfection! I would love to come back here and try something new... AND I will have to enjoy that Ahi one more time! Thanks again for the experience!!

The Brazen Head has become one of our favorite spots in the city. To start, everyone in the place are friendly, easy going, and make you feel right at home. Cocktails are well made, and are not so damn expensive. Of course there's the food. Again fair priced, and really good. They have plenty of starter items, in fact we have made a full meal just ordering a bunch of different things. The dinners are great, lots of options, and again fairly priced. Do it, great food served in a friendly environment and they serve until 1:00 AM !! A perfect off the path local neighborhood SF restaurant
