After eating the ice cream, we understand why it's so pricey. It was rich and delicious!! Best chocolate ice cream I ever had! Nice atmosphere, and friendly service. Can't wait to visit again!
Ordered the Hot Fudge Sundae. The cherry was tart and sweet. The ice cream was delicious with the fudge. Definitely scoop downward to get a bit of everything in one scoop. Good experience to share with a group, would not recommend one sundae per person unless you're feeling ambitious and hungry. Interior of the location is very cool with a chocolate fountain wall, an old chocolate milling machine, and a large 'G' font that connects from the first floor to the second. Is very busy so it may be a challenge to find a table to sit. Worth a visit as a tourist.
This was a cool spot to visit! I didn't get a chance to visit the actual Ghirardelli Square area, but there were plenty of chocolates out here. I ordered the caramel hot chocolate, which came with a caramel Ghirardelli square. It tasted great, but if you're not a fan of sweet drinks, I wouldn't get it. It was extremely sugary.
Regardless of what you get (I hear the ice cream is pretty good), its a cool spot to hang out in while waiting for the BART @ Montgomery station.

This spot is a jewel! I’m glad I was able to experience going into a Ghirardelli in its founding city. The classic hot fudge sundae is so good and I’m not even a fan of ice cream at all! I would recommend this place to anyone visiting San Francisco. Enjoying a sundae in downtown San Francisco is such a beautiful experience.

My all time favorite place to go when in San Francisco. Delicious ice cream and better chocolate. This is for anyone with a major sweet tooth like me. Go here, you will not be disappointed.
This is the shop to order delectable sundaes and ice cream concoctions. They also have a gift shop on the side. Plenty of seating but we went on a busy Saturday night and had to wait for seats to become available. The employees were very polite. When my cousin wasn’t sure what she wanted, the clerk said what she recommended and that whatever you choose, we just want you to have a good experience with us here. Definitely able to share the sundaes as they are large portions.
The place was spotless and service was great. Went a little on the late side so there where no lines at all and service was quick. Displays were fully stacked. Few bar stools to sit inside along with a few tables. Saw the option to order online for pickup and delivery using third party app. The place is connected to a hotel from one of the doors. There is no close street parking not sure if you can use the hotel parking here.
Quality product with average service. Ice cream and chocolate is signature Ghirardelli quality. Mint chocolate chip ice cream is awesome. Service was slow and unhelpful. Server indicated they would provide a specific side item but completely ignored.
