Dragon well is a cute, intimate restaurant that would be great for date night or taking an out of town family member to a nice dinner! It's a great spot for taking out of town visitors for a great culinary treat! The service is second to none with friendly servers and great ambience! For San Fran, their prices are pretty reasonable. That being said, the food didn't hold up to that pricing. We ordered the wok- tossed prawns first which were a great start to the food. The flavor was great, but it definitely was not as spicy as I was expecting. The wonton- soup was very good and exactly what you would expect and more! Unfortunately, the stir fried vegetables did not deliver. The tofu was a great consistency but suffered the same blandness as the veggies in the dish. We also ordered the walnut prawns, a sweet dish with fried prawns and candied walnuts. It was an absolute delight and paired well with the wonton soup! All said, Dragon Well is ready to be a gem of the restaurant scene in San Francisco but is lacking some finesse as far as the food goes.

Great value, great food! We ordered 3 dishes - hot and sour soup, curry vegetable noodles and garlic eggplant. All 3 dishes were large portions and came out hot and fast. Total bill was $55 for 3 people, we were all stuffed (ate too much because the food was so tasty) AND had enough leftovers for 1-2 more meals. Tbh I was shocked at how good of a value this was, for an expensive area of SF. Bonus - they have a bunch of different yummy sauces including chili oil. One of my most surprisingly good meals in SF.

Been here a ton over the years, have yet to have a bad experience. Lunch specials are a great value and the food is always done to perfection.

Upscale Chinese food in a pleasant modern restaurant. We had restaurant-made egg rolls, fried calamari, walnut prawns (WOW!!!), Kung Pao fried tofu, and string beans. Everything was tasty, with a friendly and highly attentive staff. The owner came to ask us how everything was. Don't miss this one!

8-11-21: Stopped by for lunch and tried the tea smoked 🦆 and the tofu vegetable stir fry. Both were very tasty. Duck was served with these nice and soft buns. Sauce was pretty good too. Veggie dish was good. No thrills but it was what I wanted! Wasn't very busy because it was a weekday. Outside seating at the parklet was very relaxing. Would definitely come back again for more great food.

We sought out the Dragon Well for their gluten free menu, as it is very difficult to find gluten free Chinese food. They were able to accommodate us without a reservation and we had a lovely time sitting outside on the patio (which is currently the only option - FYI there are heaters) with our group of 7. As we ate family style we order quiet a few of the gluten free options available. Everything was delicious and the waiter and hostess really went above and beyond to extend good service. Would definitely come back 🤗 Ps - spicy does mean spicy so be sure to proceed with that in mind when ordering!

Delicious, delicate, flavoursome. Great attention to detail in the preparation shines through with mouthwatering food. We had the crab wonton, dragon beef (pictured), mu shu pork and stir fried vegetables. Dishes arrived within minutes, service was excellent, and the taste to die for.
