Classic tapas style restaurant with paella. We ordered the vegetarian paella because that’s recommended on the menu, but am not very impressed. Will probably try the meat ones next time. From the tapas, I really liked the mushroom. It’s very tender and rich of taste, all the tastes are soaked into the mushroom. Also interesting taste with egg yolk. Also liked the salmon tapas but it’s a little hard to divide and share. The restaurant is at the waterfront and very well furnished. Great spot for a gathering! We had to wait a while for our server from time to time, but overall was okay.

Perfect location for a team lunch. We ordered a variety of food and were able to try lots of things. The cocktails and NA drinks were very fresh and tasty as well. Beautiful views of the water. Plenty of paid street parking around.

This was my second visit to Coqueta. This is by far one of the must try restaurants on the Embarcadero. This time it was for a large party. Everything we had was well prepared and cooked to perfection. Our server was very polite to everyone at our table and made sure our glasses were never empty. Great place for dates and birthday celebrations.

Coqueta, next to the beautiful Pier 7, is a wonderful place. They have truly breathed in the Spanish tapas culinary art and make the best attempt at taking you through a journey. Some of these tapas inch close to a Michelin star and yes, some still need a bit of work. But at the end of the day, I do not think there is another tapas place in the city that even comes close. Rather than nit pick and comment on each dish, I'd like to remind you that no matter what you order, the atmosphere, the pier, the service, and the vibe will truly make you happy. It will absolutely be of a 5-star value. Some of the awesome dishes: the croquettes were heavenly, the squid ink paella was quite an experience (although I think it may have been a tad bit dry), cheese plate was well put together, and the churros were to die for. Coqueta is a special place. A perfect date night. A perfect place to defuse a long week's stress with friends and family. Will absolutely return and frequent.

Fantastic place for small plates right down on the Embarcadero. The food was prepared perfectly and the drinks were awesome. Everything was delicious. The wait was non existent even though we went 3:30 on Black Friday. If you're on a budget this may not be the place to offer to pay for all your big eater friends and family members.

Coqueta in San Francisco, oh my, it's the most seductive dining destination by the water! This place is a flirt's paradise with its indoor, semi-indoor, and outdoor seating options. You can choose your level of intimacy while gazing out at the enchanting views. As I arrived, I couldn't resist sashaying over to the outside bar while waiting for my party, and oh, the service was as smooth as a sultry dance. A teasingly delightful start to the evening! I couldn't help but notice the grand reserved table outside, the perfect spot for those who want to see and be seen. I'm already planning a return visit with a group of my closest confidants. Now, let's talk about the food - it's pure temptation! There was this delectable French fries appetizer, served with a name I can't quite recall, and topped with an egg over easy. The way they cracked the yolk over it at the table sent shivers down my spine. But the Tomahawk steak, my oh my, it was the epitome of desire! They presented it whole, and then, with the grace of a lover, expertly sliced it, all while that wood-fired oven added a seductive smokiness that elevated the flavors to new heights. It was a touch rarer than I'd usually go for, but I cleverly saved the rare bits for a to-go bag, an enticing rendezvous for the next day. Coqueta knows how to play the mixology game too, offering a sensuous selection of cocktails befitting a fine dining establishment like this. Each sip was a flirtatious tease. Now, I must admit, the prices here might raise an eyebrow, but trust me, every penny you invest is returned tenfold in the form of the tantalizing experience, the romantic setting, and the unforgettable flavors. Coqueta is where you come to ignite your senses and create lasting memories. 💘💸🍽️

The service is always high quality here, and the food is delicious. I really enjoyed the tomahawk steak the last time I went. Their paella was good, but I feel like you can find similar quality paella in the area for cheaper. For an appetizer, I highly recommend the seared peppers and their beet salad.

We loved our experience here at Coqueta. We went on a Sunday for dinner and the parking was surprisingly free (unsure if it was because of Labor Day weekend) and was easy to find. We came in 25 minutes ahead of our reservations and were seated right away. The interior of the restaurant was so nice. The tall ceilings made it feel airy. The big windows also featured a gorgeous view of the bay. Our server, Arturo, greeted us and gave us water and the menus. He was pretty much on top of our orders and checked on us often. The other staff also made sure that we were doing okay. Everyone was friendly and pleasant. We both ordered the Moscow Mule, which was okay. I am not sure if it was because it wasn't in a steel/copper cup or the vodka they used. I will probably try one of their signature cocktails instead, next time. We ordered the patatas bravas, gambas, salmon ahumado, manchego cheese plate and the squid ink paella. They used whole small potatoes for the patatas bravas, which was so good. I have never had it this way before. The gambas was very tasty and was served with bread to soak up the liquid from the shrimp. I wish there were more shrimp on the plate, though, as we only had 3 yummy pieces. The salmon ahumado was also good and the smoked salmon wasn't too salty. The manchego cheese plate came with some flatbread, Spanish almonds, and membrillo (a Spanish fruit paste usually served with manchego). The manchego was chopped into blocks and wasn't too gamey. And of course, our trip to a Spanish restaurant isn't complete without ordering a paella! They request that patrons give them 30 to 40 minutes to make the dish, though it felt like it came in faster than the time promised. The squid ink paella was good enough for 2 people and a little extra. It had plenty of squids and mussels. It wasn't too salty and the rice was perfectly cooked. We were too full for the dessert so we ordered them to-go. The manchego cheesecake was tiny, though we were warned that it came in pops. It was so good though, I think I could have a whole cake of it. The chocolate torte was rich and wasn't too small. Since we ordered it to-go we opted not to get it with the ice cream. It was still great without it. Overall, we were very happy with our dinner there. We want to try the other dishes that we didn't order during this trip.

Enjoyed a wonderful birthday celebration at Coqueta on Sunday evening. Would highly recommend this tapas experience to anyone looking for delicious Spanish food in the city. Can’t speak to parking as my partner and I walked but the location on the Embarcadero is perfect for any occasion with options to sit outside or inside. We ordered a variety of dishes and cocktails including but not limited to: Cogollos, Olivos del Veneda, Huevos Nacionales, Patatas Bravas, Gambas Negras, Lubina Del Mar, Setas al Ajillo, The Passion of a Mojito, Port of Spain, etc. I have a tendency to enjoy vegetarian dishes and thought the best dishes were the Patatas Bravas which were well cooked and seasoned with garlic aioli on top, as well as the Setas Ajillo. The churros exceeded expectations and were the perfect way to end the meal.
