Fish District - Torrey Hills

This place is great! Our food is always delicious; and I love the laid back feel. You order at the counter and then get to choose where you sit. They bring the food to you when it s ready. There was plenty of room inside, and there is a really cute outdoor courtyard too. The BAJA STYLE BATTERED SHRIMP TACOS are so good! So was the Shrimp Burrito. We added avocado to the taco and it was wonderful. The Clam Chowder was a little spicy and very good. It all had a lot of flavor, was prepared so well and was really fresh. Yum. We have been here at least twenty times and crave it. They make some of my favorite tacos in the San Diego area. I tried the BATTERED COD TACOS recently. I like that even more than the shrimp tacos! Which is saying a lot. Traditional style for the tacos is delicious too. The food here was better than my expectations. So fresh, and quick too. I will return a lot, and I highly recommend it. And if you are in another part of San Diego, they have other locations and they have been equally delicious. I love this place so much!

Best poke I've had in a while! I ordered Spicy Half and Half, the fish tastes so fresh that it almost melts in your mouth. The creamy spice sauce is really nice as well! Many other places have extremely sour and watery spicy sauce, but this sauce is great. I also ordered a Baja Battered Shrimp Taco and it was pretty tasty, the shrimp batter is fried to crisp and meat still very tender. Their clam chowder is also pretty nice, got a lot of clams, but a bit on the salty side.

Kinda so-so. Expensive lunch. Food is pretty good, seems expensive. Wanted a 50/50 cod/shrimp Baja wrap, couldn’t make that happen. Instead offered to sell me shrimp at a whopping $2.50 a piece. Settled for cod only. But that’s the problem. I had to settle. They have interesting Maine root sodas on the fountain. They were pretty good.

About a year ago I brought my mom here for a quick lunch. We found it enjoyable. Today, I decided to stop in for some lunch also and was excited to have the fish n chips. Unfortunately, they were extremely bland and tasteless. What’s worse is that about an hour and a half after eating, I began to feel extremely queasy and clearly had an upset stomach. Quite the let down from a place that had previously set a high bar.
