Best massaged kale salad and açaí bowl! I'd give it six stars if I could!!
The signature salads at Cafe Stems and their custom home made dressings make it so hard for me to choose what to order - I always want to get both the Positivitea and the Kale-in Me Softly salads! Oh, and their tofu bowls are amazing if you want something on the warmer side.
It's nice to have so many vegetarian and healthy options that are all so delicious! You might be wondering how you could fill up on a salad for a meal, but these salads are quite large and filling too!
Great place for vegan, vegetarian and gluten free diners! Also has some items to accomodate meat and dairy diners.
They have some pretty unique salad fixings that make this place really stand out from typical places with salads. Their menu and kitchen are almost entirely gluten free which made me very comfortable that my food would be safely gluten free.
We enjoyed our salad so much we went back for a second!
They also have acai bowls, smoothies, and some other quick bites.
The staff and owners are really friendly and care a lot about their customers and the food they serve. They've expressed a strong interest in servicing the health-conscious consumer and making great tasting healthy food available to more people. I'm looking forward to coming back more often, especially as their menu grows!
Exceptional quality and quantity for value. Original salads and wraps are brought to life with flavorful dressings. Especially attuned to the customer experience, expedient, and enjoyable. Stems is a cut above the average assembly line salad establishment. I offer the suggestion of annotating menu options to specify vegan, or more inclusive, making the baseline menu vegan including non-dairy dressings and chocolate chips, with the option to add cheese.
Amazing. Atmosphere is upbeat but relaxing enough to do homework or read. Staff is extremely friendly and down to earth, explained menu and helped us select an item. Staff member had us try a sample of the drink and offered to adjust it to our taste before making it full size. Prices are very reasonable for what you get. Vegetarian friendly. Will be coming back for acai bowls!
The best healthy cafe you can find in SD. I love their positivia salad. The flavor is great and really big portion! It has a strong garlic flavor, but it just makes the flavor even better... the staff and owner are very friendly and helpful. They have good internet and plugs for the people who need to study. Parking can be tricky, but I can always find a parking in the back(I think it’s like a dollar per hour?) if I need to.
Obsessed with Cafe Stems and their huge salads! My favorite is the Kale-in me softly with tofu. The portion size is huge so I usually only eat half then save the rest for the following day. I also love the dressing it comes with! I've been looking for somewhere similar to Sweetgreen in SD for a while and think I've finally found the spot! You can also get a punch card which earns you a free salad or acai bowl on your 9th visit. :)
I've also had the the Cherry Me which I originally thought would be a smoothie but ended up to be more of an almond milk drink with cinnamon, so be aware of ingredients when ordering a specialty drink!
