Wonderful Sushi Hillcrest

Been to a couple sushi spots in SD and this one’s been my top pick so far. Seared Yellowtail roll is 10/10! it’s $16. This place is reasonably priced all around. Friendly staff. Always tastes fresh and I’ve now been enough times to experience their consistent in taste, freshness, and customer service

The sushi here is AMAZING. Fresh fish and great flavor 😍 The thing is... Service sucks. I don't think they have enough staff to handle take out orders and in-restaurant dining. We've dined in at least 3 times before we gave up and decided to only get take out. We call at least 30 mins ahead but we usually end up waiting in the car a while anyway, and they've gotten our order wrong or missed an item a few times. Dine in, it takes them a while to acknowledge you when you are trying to order or ask for something, and the food takes FOREVER to come out. It's definitely worth the wait, just don't come here if you're super hungry because you're going to wait a long time to get your food 😬 Pictured on the left two orders of Rainbow Roll, bottom is a baked Wonderful Dynamite roll 😋, right top is mixed sashimi, bottom right I think it's the Yellowtail Carpaccio roll and I don't remember the other baked one, maybe Scallop Dynamite.

Sushi tasted amazing, tried about 6 types, I think I was overcharged because I wish missing food I ordered (apps), and the server I got, I think a Russian like girl, was not very kind or attentive. I went on Monday 20th of Sept. Also, my friend and I the next day had horrible runs, 3 days later, I am still suffering the effects. Very disappointed in that. Didn't make a good last impression from service and quality after. Tasted great, but the $80 bill was not worth the health effects after.
