Onyx Room

Had a great time at Onyx Nightclub last Friday night a few of my girlfriends were in town and I wanted to show them a good area in San Diego that played both Latino and Hip Hop music. The music was so good that we couldn’t stop dancing. We hadn’t been back to Onyx since the pandemic and I’m so glad we stopped in. The interior is newly remodeled and upscaled. The bathroom lines did not take an eternity and that’s always a big plus in my books! 10/10 if you are in the mood for some great music and strong drinks :)

Onyx hands down is the best nightclub in San Diego! Whenever I plan a weekend out to have some fun I always turn to Onyx because I know this is the place to be at. Onyx has 3 floors with a mix of music for everyone! I have booked tables here at onyx several times including Halloween weekend and I wasn’t disappointed. Our VIP host Jacob was on top of everything and the process to get a table was easy. He caters to our needs whether a birthday or regular night out he really goes above and beyond to give us that VIP experience. I recommend everyone to check this club out since it is definitely an experience!

We had a Bachelorette party here with bottle service for 16 girls and they covered all ends in making our nite amazing. They were consistent on making sure we had fresh ice, cups and juices for our bottles throughout the nite. The DJ played the jams in the Hip Hop room and kept the vibes flowing. I would definitely go back when I'm in SD. Mundaca was amazing and helped me through the whole process of booking the bottle service and ensuring our party has a great time!

Brandon was the VIP service promoter and he made my birthday experience the best!! He was very communicative when planning my birthday and made the entire process just so smooth. The security guard and the bottle service girl who was at my table was also super amazing. 10/10 experience and would definitely return. 100% would coordinate all VIP table bookings Brandon again!

Definitely not worth $20 entrance fee. They stuffed us in there that no one had any room to dance. People were sweating all over each other and ghetto people were pushing each other, which started a few fights. Most people had terrible attitudes, it was disgusting. This club is for the wanna-be classy but trashy people. Most of those ill-tempered were fat/fluffy (whatever makes you feel better), which should've account for 2 people when estimating how many should go in. Also, the DJ constantly changed music every 3 seconds, which irritated many of the crowd who ended up just leaving. We left after 5 min of them doing this. How can anyone dance with constant, abrupt changes in music with no smooth transition? The only good thing about this place were the gorgeous professional dancers and the set-up.

Overall we had fun that night. Brandon has been so dedicated for our booked table service and he prepared everything before we arrived. I want to call out two things for improvement. First, the location of the restroom is really weird. People will come through your table in order to get there. It’s really annoying. Second, security should keep an eye on the guests in the table. A guy from the dance floor tried to drag out one of our drunk girls from our table.

Brandon was the host that came through with a table on a short notice for my big group of friends for my birthday, not even that but he had my name put on a sign which out here in Seattle we don’t have not to mention posted me on their IG story saying happy birthday, name a better promoter I’ll wait. Highly recommend!
