The Grater Grilled Cheese only has one location in central San Diego, so I had to try it and see if the hype was worth it. I ordered the Fiery Torta Grilled Cheese and my friend ordered the Avocado Grilled Cheese sandwich. They were both really good! The bread was toasted to perfection with the right amount of butter. The ingredients were fresh, and of course there was plenty of cheese. The crunch you get when you bite into these sandwiches is exactly what you want when you think of a great grilled cheese sandwich. The staff here was friendly and efficient. This location is clean and run really well. I will definitely be back. Eat up!!!

Yummy comfort food. The Mac and cheese was my favorite. The sandwich is a Philly grilled cheese, doesn't really taste like a Philly cheese steak sandwich. But it was still good. I also tried the sweet potato fries. They were delicious. They also serve loaded fries and different mac and cheese, burgers, and salads.

Have been passing this place coming down Friars road for the longest and finally pulled the trigger and came on Mother’s Day. Made my own grilled cheese with Mac n cheese and fried chicken. It was super cheesy and chicken was crispy. Sourdough bread had a great crunch and was grilled perfectly. My only complaint was that there wasn’t much seasoning or flavor. Even my daughter, who had a regular grilled cheese, said the same thing. It just felt one note. The fries were really good, though. Overall, cute place and didn’t have a long wait despite it being lunch on a Sunday.

Oh this is quite the cheesy place to hang and dine at. I chose their spicy fiery torta, and it didn’t disappoint. Also I hope Brandy & Elijah are still together. I enjoyed my sandwich on top of their graffiti on the table outside the restaurant. See in the pics…

It was our first time here. We ordered Impossible🌱 burger🍔 , lobster mac & cheese🦞🧀 and lobster grilled cheese sandwich🧀🥪 The food was wonderful and the service was pretty fast. They have reasonable prices. The portion sizes are big and the sandwich had a lot of lobster meat. The impossible🌱 burger had a smoky flavor and delicious caramelized onions. If you are not a fan of spicy 🌶 🔥 food make sure they leave out the jalapeños from the burger.

I had a great experience. First time coming in and a young cashier helped me pick out from the vast menu. So many items, definitely will need to visit more than once to get a good feel of all the cheesiness they're capable of! I had the 5 cheese Mac and cheese which was good. Maybe it lacked a little sharpness that I think cheese should have, but all around a great place. Oh and they have a couple of beers available to go with the meal! I will be coming back soon enough!

We just got here from Wisconsin about 2 weeks ago and were looking for some comfort food. This was some of the best mac & cheese I've ever had, and my boyfriend loved his sandwich too! Can't wait to go back and try the fries.

Dont really hit this place up to often, but when I do, I'm never disappointed. The varieties in the different items on the menu, everything seems to have a pretty GRATE taste. (Like what I did there?) Definitely worth a shot if you haven't already. Could be hard to see the sign due to the trees, usually good parking and hit or miss with seating.

Extensive menu with lots of unique cheese options. We ordered the buffalo mac & cheese, patty melt, avocado grilled cheese with french fries. Loved the buffalo Mac wasn’t super spicy, but had a little bit of a kick to it. The patty melt with the mac & cheese spread inside was amazing, and very heavy. Had to eat the whole thing over 2 meals.
