The food is amazing. I would only say that cleanliness can be improved upon. Our waiter was amazing but his clothes were dirty. His pants had food stains on it and we were there right when it opened and were the first customers which tells me they came to work with dirty clothes. He was amazing at his job though. Recommended rolls based on what we told him we liked and they were right on. Definitely recommend.

Can't believe this is my first time here as this Japanese sushi restaurant has been here forever! They have great dinner combination platters that come with soup, salad and rice. The service is very polite and sushi is reasonably good for the price. We all had teriyaki chicken combos with tempura, sushi, or rolls. Plenty of food and you won't go away hungry! advice call for reservations as the line could be long for seating.

Hiro is the best sushi chef in San Diego. We have been coming here for years. The sushi bar is always packed with regulars, not only locals but people from all over San Diego. This is our go to sushi without a doubt and no one else compares

We came here for Valentine's day. It was great atmosphere and nice service. The food was very delicious and had a homey feel. We enjoyed our meals and would want to come back to try other things on the menu.

Sushi is incredibly fresh tasting. Hiro-San was superb and creative.
Ask him to prepare chef’s selection.
Sauces are a little over used - next time I would ask for authentic Japanese style

Surprised this place doesn't have 5 stars. I went for lunch and was seated immediately. The atmosphere is calm and cozy like restaurants used to be. The soft music playing in the background was a nice touch. The service was fast. The food was spectacular, very very fresh and beautifully presented. I live in Corona but I'm hoping one day I can bring my family here to enjoy!

This sushi restaurant has been here forever! They are very traditional and everything has always been really good. The service is very polite and say the sushi is reasonably priced for the quality. We got four specialty rolls, a seaweed salad, two miso soups and traditional green tea. Everything was fantastic, although this evening salad was quite small for the price, maybe four bites total!
Overall, everything was fresh and the rolls were beautiful.

Went on a Friday night at 6:30PM without reservation. We were lucky to get a table for 4 without waiting! However, highly recommended to call ahead and make a reservation.
Service was prompt and adequate. Sushi fish was fresh. Price was good, not so expensive to break the bank. This is a good alternate to our favorite.

Three of us ate dinner at Akai Hana and had a great time. More of a traditional Japanese restaurant with actual Japanese sushi 🍣 chefs and waitresses. I had sashimi and beef 🥩 teriyaki which was very good. Service was good and we got our food quickly.

Great service and awesome sushi. Still has outdoor seating available and it's a great place to go for sushi or other Japanese dishes. Miso soup is great and comes with entrees.
Sushi rolls were fresh tasting and well rolled and the servers were very friendly and answered all questions we had. Good atmosphere, highly recommend.
