Sala Thai

I went here yesterday during lunch time. The lunch special comes with an appetizer and main course. I appreciated the portion sizes for lunch. Too much food slapped on a plate can be a turn off for me, so I was happy to see the perfect portions for lunch 😊 The red curry was yummy with fresh green beans, rice and white chicken breast. The only reason I didn’t give five stars was because the vegetarian spring rolls were mushy inside and bland, although they were fried well. The staff was extremely welcoming and friendly. I will definitely be returning to grab some lunch.

This place has been my favorite Thai restaurant in San Diego for 20 years, I love that they still have the same fresh taste, same smiling faces and great service. My personal favorite is the chicken Penang with brown rice. Just know to ask for mild if you don’t like it spicy. Tip: their lunch special is filling & under $20! I highly recommend it.

We have been waiting to try this place for a long time. But don't go by the look of the place. It's a small place tucked in one corner. But as soon as we entered we were greeted with warm smiles and seated quickly. The ambience is nothing great. It's like a normal Thai restaurant. Service was really good. The food came by quickly. We ordered lettuce wrap which I would rate 3/5 - presentation and the lettuce could be put together well. The chicken didn't have a lot of flavours too. Our main course was from the wok hot chicken which was really nice. Came with a side of rice. 4/5 I will however go again and try other dishes. Not too expensive!

Asian food is tricky for me and im a picky eater... However, Sala Thai was not only delicious, but the owner was so pleasant to talk too and was very helpful with selecting my dishes. I like spicy, so she even added a little "extra" to my selections. The restaurant is small and quaint, but seating was roomy and comfortable. I will definitely be back! Highly recommend!

Had the yellow curry with brown rice and really enjoyed it. Service was good. They are taking the covid regs seriously with servers masked and are using disposable table coverings. This has all been so hard on small businesses so glad to see they are still hanging on and I will make a point to going back more often.
