I went here yesterday during lunch time. The lunch special comes with an appetizer and main course. I appreciated the portion sizes for lunch. Too much food slapped on a plate can be a turn off for me, so I was happy to see the perfect portions for lunch 😊
The red curry was yummy with fresh green beans, rice and white chicken breast. The only reason I didn’t give five stars was because the vegetarian spring rolls were mushy inside and bland, although they were fried well.
The staff was extremely welcoming and friendly. I will definitely be returning to grab some lunch.
Hidden gem! I stopped by here on the way home from grocery shopping with my BF, it was supposed to be a quick stop. But once we saw the inside we decided to sit down and stay. The inside is nicely decorated with simple pretty lavender accents. The overall atmosphere was laid-back but very nice. The service was quick and fast and the food was delicious! Below I have a Thai tea, chicken yellow curry, and chicken curry rice. All were so delicious! Definitely coming again. Great place for dates, or for bringing the family and kids. A little slow.
This place has been my favorite Thai restaurant in San Diego for 20 years, I love that they still have the same fresh taste, same smiling faces and great service.
My personal favorite is the chicken Penang with brown rice. Just know to ask for mild if you don’t like it spicy.
Tip: their lunch special is filling & under $20! I highly recommend it.
We have been waiting to try this place for a long time. But don't go by the look of the place. It's a small place tucked in one corner. But as soon as we entered we were greeted with warm smiles and seated quickly.
The ambience is nothing great. It's like a normal Thai restaurant.
Service was really good. The food came by quickly.
We ordered lettuce wrap which I would rate 3/5 - presentation and the lettuce could be put together well. The chicken didn't have a lot of flavours too.
Our main course was from the wok hot chicken which was really nice. Came with a side of rice. 4/5
I will however go again and try other dishes. Not too expensive!
Best little Thai place in the neighborhood! Family run, with delicious fresh food and friendly service.
Photo is Panang curry with shrimp lunch special which comes with an appetizer - yummy, comfort food. Try the Chu Chee Salmon if you stop by for dinner.
This is a wonderful local Thai restaurant that my family has been visiting for over 20 years. The food here is exceptional and well priced. The staff is attentive and friendly, and balance a busy kitchen well with kind caring service.
It is absolutely the best Thai food in the area and I recommend it to anyone looking for a delicious bite to eat eat for lunch or dinner. The dishes served here are extremely flavorful, and are not overpowering in heat - though you can order nearly everything more or less spicy.
I highly recommend Sala Thai as the best Thai food in town. Every other Thai restaurant that I've been to throughout San Diego and across the country falls short.
Massaman curry was very yummy! Decent amount of meat and very flavorful. The summer shrimp was interesting as well. First time I ordered they didn't include the peanut sauce unfortunately but the second time they did and it was very rich! I definitely recommend this place, they have great Thai food.
First time ordering take out. Green curry and massaman curry were delicious. White rice was cooked perfectly. Would go there again.
Asian food is tricky for me and im a picky eater... However, Sala Thai was not only delicious, but the owner was so pleasant to talk too and was very helpful with selecting my dishes.
I like spicy, so she even added a little "extra" to my selections. The restaurant is small and quaint, but seating was roomy and comfortable. I will definitely be back! Highly recommend!
Very Authentic Taste!
Excellent quite place to dine in
