Nico’s is always worth a stop if you’re in Ocean Beach. Their food is delicious and so full of flavor. The Carne Asada burrito is huge. Probably enough for two meals for most people. The meat in the burrito is well seasoned and blends really well with the pico de gallo, which is always fresh! The Beef Rolled Tacos are a great meal by itself. The tacos are large and are served with large portions of cheese and guacamole. I added sour cream to mine.

Got some FAT tacos for a good price. They have the glass bottle coke, as all good restaurants should. The guy at the front gave me practice talking in Spanish because I was embarrased- a true bro. Also, as far as sauce goes, green=hot, red= mild. Green= slow guys

An INSTITUTION here in OB. Family run since 1982. So obviously they know what they are doing food wise. Diverse menu, and fair pricing.

Nico's was our 2nd stop on our taco hop. Decided on fish, & carnitas tacos. The carnitas taco was good & crispy, but it took 3 bites to find the fish. Ha ha like fishing for the fish in my fish tacos.

My boyfriend and I, while visiting from Baltimore, tried this place after a local we met at a bar recommended it for breakfast. It did not disappoint. Don't question yourself with the menu — you want the California burrito. Trust me. In addition to your protein of choice (I went with carne asada), the California is filled with cheese, sour cream, guacamole, and fries. I can't imagine a better hangover food (though it also hit the spot one morning sans hangover). The rest of the burritos don't quite have the balance this one does. Bring cash — it's cash only — and prepare yourself for a big breakfast, because this bad boy is huge. I was proud of myself for getting through half. Service is wonderful and fast. Salsas are fantastic.

The California burrito here is incredible! I got mine with chicken - will definitely get the classic with carne asana next time. Note that this place is cash only! No bathrooms. There are a couple tables outside. Super friendly service.

I had two California burritos, both were the best I've had in San Diego. I'm not a connoisseur but they seem to do it right, achieving a great level of moistness and crunch. My second one i got with carnitas instead of carne asada, which to me was an improvement. Lovely people nice vibe good quick food. Try the orange salsa if you can handle a spicy punch! Also the picked carrots are lovely.

A small Mexican joint that’s graced Newport Avenue in Ocean Beach for years, Nico’s is a San Diego establishment. They offer solid burritos here that are consistent in quality and size. The California is one of the best in town. They also have a great selection of enchiladas and tostadas. Come hungry because their portions are generous. Be sure to get a handful of red salsas. Take your order down to the boardwalk and have a top tier Mexican lunch while watching the surf.

Breakfast burrito yes! They can also make it into a plate if you don't want the tortilla like my little princess wanted. Highly recommend stopping in to get your fix for a delicious meal paired with a very hospitable staff that makes you feel welcome and part of their family.

The place is not over hyped. It is probably the best California burrito I've ever had. Plentiful and flavorful carne asada, crispy fries, super fresh tortilla. The salsas are delicious, if you like spicy, the hottest one is excellent. And the price is right, super affordable. Reminder, cash only.
