This is an awesome concept for a restaurant. This taqueria is actually a non-profit supporting a different charity every month. Currently (March 2020), the charity is GirlsRising. How can you not be down for eating tacos for a good cause??? Plus, there’s a speak-easy in back - so there’s no reason not to go.

There is a "hidden" bar in the back, you can order your tacos up front and they will bring them in the back.

Hi. This place was a pleasant surprise. After living in San Diego for 10 years you want to start trying new things. Luckily this was it. I heard about this place in a local article and the fact that they donate to charities was a bonus. This month was especially close to my heart. The Australian wild fires and the devastation on it caused the animals and humans. So I was more than happy to go and enjoy some tacos and help out. The tacos, delicious. Michelle who greeted me was a sweetheart. And the best surprise of the night, there is a speakeasy in the back. Living in this world with bad news everywhere and people staring at their phones all day, this was a joyful experience.

Not just a taco Tuesday favorite, this spot has great tacos, street taco style for anytime I'm craving Mexican taco simply made but very flavorful. They always allow me to make substitutions too! Take the tacos into the speakeasy in back or take a seat on the front patio and people watch. Can't go wrong here.

The tacos were really good and the customer was too! Very friendly! They have a very nice, beautiful bar (like a speak easy) in the back, you wouldn't know it was there. It is separated by what looks like a refrigerator door. It is really nice!

This is a non for profit taqueria that features a different charity every month. The food is delicious and even tho I neglected to take pictures, the tacos were pretty pretty good. I had the tempura avocado and the grilled fish tacos with a bottle of Mexican tamarind jarritos. Loved this place and will make sure to stop by at least once a month!

GREAT “premium” Mexican food. Always fresh and great ingredients! Modern twist/take on traditional Mexican street tacos. Their chips and guacamole are amazing and so are all of their tacos! Also interesting selection of sauces and drinks. There is an awesome speakeasy at this location too. I frequent Tacos Libertad and have never been let down by the experience or quality/taste of food!

I love that they choose a new charity to help each month. Makes you feel so good to support local charities, plus get awesome tacos! Tacos are $3.50 and pretty small, but they're vegetarian options are delicious. Tempura avocado is surprisingly super good. So is they're shitake mushroom taco. Definitely recommend!

The pork belly signature taco with the sweet potato truly is the best. The duck confit is always juicy and super fatty and flavorful also. The corn tortillas are thick and soft, handmade like and delicious. I'm so glad we have a great taco place on the strip in Hillcrest. A bit pricey, but it is nonprofitor going to charity. Cache in the back is fantastic also :) Jacob is a great man behind the bar, makes you feel at home, and makes some amazing drinks
