Glad we went for Saturday brunch. Nice sitting on the patio, bright and breezy. The skirt steak and eggs was good and better than I was hoping for. The short ribs got rave reviews. The staff was nice, prompt and took good care of our party of 5. Look forward to going back soon.

So confused by a lot of these unfavorable reviews. My fiance and I went and both thought the place was amazing. No wait on a Saturday night, the atmosphere is pretty cool and our server was great. We got the cantina nachos, the lamb and the fajitas. Everything was sooo flavorful and the portion sizes were pretty big; I was able to take home the lamb and have it for lunch and dinner the next day. The wait for the food was a little bit on the long side but still reasonable. Overall a really awesome experience.

This is a beautiful Mexican based fusion restaurant. They change their menu from time to time so you will be surprised every time. We tried their octopus... it was very tender and tasty :) Taco was really spicy (especially the dandan sauce)... So beware! Duck leg confit was crispy but Lamb barbacoa shank was our most favorite dish of the night... We smelt it when we walked inside and that was the reason we ordered it. It is very delicious! We ordered the grilled whole sea bass but unfortunately it was sold out. We then substituted with the steak... It tasted good but not surprising. Dessert... We ordered chocolate cream, duvalin and roasted corn flan (plus vanilla ice cream for the kids)... Chocolate cream was super rich and... Huge! Duvalin was more smooth and refreshing...but I would still prefer flan...perfectly matched with banana toffee to melt my sweet tooth! Well, please noted it is difficult to find self parking spot in this area during weekends peak hours... Valet parking could make things easier :)

It’s no wonder Claudette Zepeda-Wilkins earned a James Beard Award. El Jardin earned a perfect 5🍽 review from us. Fresh flavors, innovative dishes and exceptional service. A must go and where I will be taking all our visitors on the future. The Salsa Trio set the tone for the meal and although not overly spicy, the flavor combinations in each danced across the palate. Following up with the El Jardin salad which incorporated the creamiest burrata, fresh peas and fennel topped with herb vinaigrette and hoja santa crumble. We were delighted at the great seasoning of lime, salt and more spices. After the initial starters, we moved on to Fava Tlacoyo and Corunda Tamal. Both dishes were light and well composed. The Fava Tlacoyo was bursting with flavor, a symphony held together by a green garlic bean sauce. Finally, the Taquitos and Vegetable Enmoladas finished our savory courses. Usually not a huge fan of American mole recipes as they are too sweet, Chef Claudette nails the mole of Mexico, one that is not overly sweetened. To top off the meal, we finished with the Duvalin. Hazelnut torte, strawberries, a duo of cremeaux plus white chocolate make this dessert a grand finale when dining at El Jardin.

Upscale Mexican eatery . Full cocktail menu with well thought out and well made drinks . Fresh tortillas. Fresh fish . Amazing salsa. The service was everything you could ever want from a fine dining establishment. On the higher end of the scale as far as prices but you won’t be disappointed. We took a group of 4 and shared everything for under $250 including drinks .

An outstanding dining experience! No matter what catches your eye first at El Jardín, the garden, the handmade tortilla station on the one of a kind patio, or the stunning, inviting entryway, you know you are in for one hell of a meal. Before I go any further, may I strongly suggest, let Chef Claudette order for you. We ordered some dishes, and had her surprise us with some; and truly, we liked what she ordered for us more than what we ordered. There is so much greatness to take in before you even take the first sip of your expertly crafted refreshment. From the stunning seating, the colorful upholstery, the lighting, and I swear, the bathrooms. The bathrooms and the walkway to the bathrooms are a must, Even if you don't have to go; wash your hands at the stunning hand wash area. There are heart warming family photos, and a great glimpse of the kitchen. The team is very friendly, and know their menu well. The most difficult thing is not over ordering, everything you see go by and read on the menu sounds like exactly what you want. Be sure to indulge in their desserts! Really, I can not say enough great things about El Jardín. I hope you get a chance to enjoy it for yourself, over and over again!

Such a lovely brunch! Our server Javier was excellent — the best server we’re had during our long weekend in San Diego. Our chilaquiles were delicious and the ambiance was glorious. The restaurant is truly beautiful and nestled right by the Liberty Public Market for a great post- meal stroll.

Came here with a party of 9 for a birthday brunch and we received really friendly service, we all enjoyed our food, and thought the decor was beautiful. The guacamole with tostada chips was devoured quickly. The chilaquiles were a hit and the portion is very large. The pistachio chili oil they bring for the table is one of the best things...don't skip it! The chicken tostadas had very soggy bottoms but tasted wonderful with a fork and knife. I deducted 1 star for two reasons: 1) We came when the restaurant first opened and missed out on some things not being ready yet that we really wanted...fresh tortillas and the pan dulce plate :( oh well, next time! 2) it is right under the departing flight path and it was very busy that morning...maybe 20 planes taking off while we were there and it's very loud. Not a huge deal and not their fault, but something to be aware of.
