This appears to be a shared venue. Front of the house is The Local, eatery and drinking hole. The Brewery is in the back half. We didn't eat but the beers we had were very good. They had upside down christmas trees hanging from the ceiling.

Great beer! It would be easy to stop there, but this place is great. The beers are truly excellent. I had to meet the head brewer, Bill, and he added another element to our visit. A definite must-drink spot in San Diego!

An amazing selection of craft beers, couple with great service and an awesome menu. I irde re the wet burrito and wow! It was huge and really good. Our server Madeline was super chill and fun too

Great beer, and food. Awesome atmosphere for watching sports. Service was a little slow, but the great beer made up for it.

Shared with a local restaurant, this place has a lot to offer. 41 beers on tap. Great food, and the service was solid.
There are a lot of choices in the Gas Lamp district, make sure you stop in at Resident Brewing / The Local!

Great bar with extra special extra of great beers brewed on site. First batch of beers on this trip and bar has been set very high.

I never really been a fan of breweries & bars being together, and this place kinda confirmed it. If I go to a brewery I expect to be able to walk without the music blasting, and that’s where the bar comes in. It was too loud, and it was almost impossible to carry a conversation in there.
Now, the beer at resident brewing was amazing. My Four Stars are strictly for their beers, and for the service we got. Their vacation coconut IPA & Walk of Shame were my favorite.
They do offer food as well (part of the bar) but we were just there for the beer. I would recommend this place strictly for the beer but not for the ambiance. Maybe going early on a weekday might change things up.

Nice tasting-room style place with 40 taps including 12 of their own beers. You can try any of their beers for $2/4oz, with snifter and pint glasses going for $5 to $8. Wide range of bar food suits the beer.
