Great Maple - La Jolla

We made reservations for brunch on a Monday at 10 am. We were seated pretty quickly. Our waitress was busy so she took some time to get our order, but once we ordered, the food came out very quickly. We got the brisket popover and french toast logs. Both items tasted great! My husband had the brisket popover and he really enjoyed the brisket but didn't think the popover was anything special. I had the french toast logs and thought they tasted great. The bread is very thick and custardy. It comes topped with maple syrup, blueberries, and bacon. The portion is HUGE. I ate about 1.5 logs and took the rest home. I think this is a great brunch spot and would highly recommend it. I suggest making reservations as we heard people without reservations being told it was going to be a 30 min wait. This location is part of the Westfield UTC mall. There is a parking garage off Genessee Ave that makes it very easy to park and walk directly to the restaurant. I think the first 2 hours of parking are free (we were in and out in about an hour). Update: Made lunch reservations for a weekday and we were seated immediately. The restaurant wasn't to busy so the waiter was pretty quick with taking our order and the food came out pretty fast. I had the protein bowl with salmon instead of chicken. The protein bowl was excellent. It came with what I believe was barley, shaved brussel sprouts, mushrooms, bell peppers, onions, avocado, cauliflower hummus, and chimichuri. All the veggies and sauces tasted great and the salmon was well cooked. I would highly recommend the protein bowl for lunch.

service and food were amazing !! my dish was a bit on the blander side but how special can you really get with american pancakes .. the churro donuts completely overshadowed that though !! even as someone who dislikes sweets, i think the donuts were to die for and perfectly balanced with the bitterness of the chocolate sauce that came with it. my main problem comes from the payment portion .. i was only charged for the food and not a single cent of the tip :( makes me worry the sweet waitress who attended us didn't receive the tip.

We stopped in randomly around lunch and sat at the bar. The place was jumping. I couldn't imagine what breakfast / brunch must be like on the weekend - crazy busy. We had a couple of appetizers and drinks. The service was solid. The food was very good. Would definitely go back to have a full on meal (mental note.... check if they take reservations).

Great service and great food!!! My husband and I went here at 8:30am and it wasn't busy by any means, so we were seated right away. I ended up getting the French Toast Logs and it was delicious. If you're craving something sweet for breakfast then this is it! It was deceptively filling - I was only able to eat two of the french toast logs and boxed the other half up and it was just as delicious the next morning. My husband ordered the house smoked beef brisket hash and he was not disappointed. The eggs were poached perfectly and the dish was boasting with flavors. Needless to say, he did not have any leftovers! Definitely recommend this spot - If I could, I would have ordered almost everything on the menu!

Got the brisket burger/sandwich which is smoked in house and it was fantastic. Tender as can be, the barbecue sauce wasn't overly sweet like 90% of generic sauces are, it was perfect. I got a side salad because if I got fries I would have been in a food coma, the portions are huge! They were great with allowing the dog inside, they even gave the pup a water cup. The amazing customer service and the gorgeous venue will keep me coming back here for a long time. Plan for a tiny bit of a wait even with a reservation, it's a busy spot on weekends.

Food and service was both equally amazing. As for prices, you definitely get more than expected with the breakfast items, the rest of the menu is fairly priced but on the pricey end of things. My kids ordered the French toast logs, and silver dollar pancakes (adult serving). Both said their food was fluffy through out all of it, and my youngest said they were the best pancakes he ever had. I ordered the salmon board. Not only did the salmon melt in my mouth but what they put on it to caramelize (I think it was brown sugar) enhanced the flavors so much. We also ordered the portobello fries. My boys don't like mushrooms but loved these. I love mushrooms and thought these were amazing and will try to make them myself. I also ordered the key lime pie and it was the perfect blend of sweet and tasty and had the consistency of cheesecake (which is how prefer it). Our server was Claire, and she was very kind, accommodating (we were a party of 10, with lots of kids), and professional. She entertained the kids, got all of our orders down flawlessly, and kept us very informed on the status of our food as well as just checking to see if we needed anything else. Highly recommend this establishment.

When visiting San Diego, you must try the Great Maple for breakfast or brunch. Simply mouth watering meals. You really have to experience the sweet or savory breakfast items. Our group tried french toast, waffles, standard bacon and eggs, brisket hash, beignets and a kiddy meal. All were fantastic. Service was outstanding. Great job Great Maple.

This is the forth time I could remember that I had meal in this restaurant. Although they did not serve me very well during my first visit as it was afternoon. I think it is because it was its busy hours. They may short in hands, and that is understandable for a good-quality restaurant. I had my third and forth visit to have breakfast in the morning, and I have to say that I really have a good time. That really changed my impression of this restaurant. Although it was a little bit noisy as some guests are really talk loudly (in the morning). The breakfast is very delicious, the brisket hash are especially my favorite. With one good cup of coffee and some extra grilled bread as I demanded. It was a really good enjoyable time. I would rather suggest that you should always make a reservation before you went there. PS: I came there several times after this comment was made, still good as well. I believe the day I came were very noisy because of other customers is just one case. The overall atmosphere I felt there is just good. Neither too quiet makes people feel dead, or too noisy in order to affect having meals.

Tasty as all get out... I had the California chorizo scramble melt with house potatoes and fruit. Baked to perfection and the cheese melted ever so nicely on top. I also enjoyed a tasty mocha and freshly squeezed orange juice. The service was absolutely amazing too. I sat at the bar and was treated so well. Gotta give that bartender a raise! He was quick and very kind and friendly. Overall the quality of the food and drinks was worth every penny I paid for my meal. The only thing I don't like is how difficult it is to find the place. I've included some photos so hopefully others can find it easier. I'm not sure how you'd enter of you parked downstairs and enter through Genesse because I was visiting the UTC mall when I stumbled upon the place for a quick bite. 😊 You have to go between Nordstrom and SuperDry
