Palace Bar

Palace Bar earns 5 stars just by virtue of having both the gonads and vision to stock and sell very expensive, hard-to-find scotch in downtown San Diego. My regular scotch bar is the more affordable Aero Club, but Aero Club lacks the ambiance and grace of Palace Bar. Sitting at a dark, oaky bar in the Horton Grand, I can ALMOST justify the occasional $50 glass of whisky here, whereas I probably wouldn't be as willing to splurge at Aero Club. Also, the selection at Palace Bar is outstanding. For example, they stock every Bruichladdich I've seen anywhere else in the world, and even some I've never seen before. Bartenders are knowledgeable and accommodating. This is my newest shelter from the madness and vomit of Gaslamp. If you appreciate sipping rare scotch in a quiet, dark, well-appointed bar, this joint has you covered.

The absolute best bar if you enjoy scotch, whiskey, cognac in Downtown. The Palace Bar has an EXTENSIVE collection of all of the above spirits from all over the world. And when the contact info says over 500 different types to choose from, ITS STRAIGHT UP TRUTH..! There is so much selection here that you are overwhelmed, but in a good way to me because you can learn so much about them all. The design and layout of the place is great for individuals and small crowds. Live music on the weekends. Prices are right where they should be when you have the option to drink so many varied and possible high end brands. If you like scotch or whiskey, you must go here to enjoy your stuff...you wont regret it..!
