It is good overall, the beef ribs have less meat vs more fat, some people maybe prefer this but I prefer to eat more meat 🌚

Pretty good for airport food, the Mac was a bit sour but everything else was great. Ribs were super flavorful!

Good place good food.
The prices are high, but compared to the rest of the restaurants in this Airport

Great Burger. I got the Philibuster and it was delicious. Although there was no way I could eat that entire beast. Probably the BEST airport burger I’ve ever had. The fries were really good too.
The guys behind the counter was really helpful and friendly. He actually went to the bar to get me some salt for my fries.
If you’re in San Diego airport terminal 1 and your HUNGRY… check out Phil’s BBQ.

Honestly, I was hesitant. How good can ribs be at an airport? In reality, they were fantastic! Moist, flavorful, and minimal grease. Along with the fries, this was an excellent meal.

Ok, so I’d gotten a couple recommendations for Phil’s BBQ here in San Diego, but wasn’t able to make it….until, low and behold they have one at the airport.
Now I know it’s a limited menu from their main location, but it was pretty darned good.
I got a “chickless dinner”…smoked loin chunks with a side of macaroni salad and fries and a sausage link added in. I liked liked the sausage link a little better than the pork, it was smokey and really juicy. The macaroni salad was good as well, using small past and not sweet.
The BBQ sauce was sweet (little too much for me) but had great flavor and heat as well.
So all that said, if it’s this good in an airport I’d definitely recommend the actual establishment! 👍🏻👍🏻

Pretty comparable to the Phil’s locations around San Diego county, which is the best BBQ in so cal. Wasn’t AS fall-off-the-bone good, but in an airport with few options, this is your best bet by a long shot.
But buyer beware - $27 pre-tax for 6 ribs and 2 sides. It ain’t cheap!!

Was at the San Diego airport seen this place. Had the Phil buster with french fries. Was spectacular BBQ. Huge .

The best airport cheese burger I've ever had. The service was quick and they let you know how long each order will take in case you have a short layover. It's a bit more expensive, because it's at the airport, but it's worth it if you can afford it over other less quality options at the airport.

I'm not very fond of airport restaurants ...but i need to say that Phils might be the exception to the rule. I've been flying a lot from SD and Phils is becoming my place to go when in SD airport. Last time i tried EL TORO sandwich (basically tri tip meat with Bbq) and it's really good. I feel it's quite expensive for just a sandwich (soda is not included) but again, everything is expensive inside airports...but it's worth it.
