November 2023 review Still good. I love Roll Rice Paper dishes because they include fresh veggies, Vietnamese Pico, and Vietnamese sauce. I've only tried several of their dishes, so far my favorite has been the beef vegetable stir fry. The last three times I've been here, I've ordered take out. What I appreciate about them besides their food is that they do not skim on to-go-orders. I've had a couple unfortunate incidents where restaurants have skimmed on my take-out orders and I've never returned to them since. So thanks for providing excellent take-out orders!

This is the most authentic Vietnamese restaurant I have found in San Diego. I love the pho, the bun bowls, the quality of the food is good, the ingredients are fresh and food is tasty. I’ve been here a few times and the staff is consistently courteous, service is speedy, food is delivered fast and the place is very clean. You can find lots of dishes that I don’t see at other Vietnamese restaurants in the US, but food you can order in Vietnam. Parking is plenty and I never had to wait to be seated.

After shopping, we wanted to have Vietnamese noodle. So we decided to check out Phuong Trang. Finding parking is always a challenge in Convoy Street area, especially on weekends. But this Saturday, there were ample parkings. This restaurant has lots of seating indoor so we got seated without wait and waitstaff brought us hot tea as requested. We ordered three dishes: bun rieu ground shrimp with eggs vermicelli soup in light broth with tomatoes, fried tofu and Vietnamese ham; and calamari salad which has shredded papaya, cucumber, celery, carrots, topped with marinated calamari, crushed peanuts, fresh mint and toasted sesame seeds and lastly, the house special broken rice combo which has shredded pork, steamed egg meatloaf, ground shrimp wrapped in tofu, grilled chicken, slices of tomatoes and cucumber, salad, pickled carrots and radish and broken rice. The hot vermicelli soup was simply delicious comfort food for us. We loved the savory grounded shrimps, eggs and tomato broth. Calamari salad was surprisingly well prepared with fresh ingredients and tender marinated calamari. So good! The grilled chicken and steamed egg meatloaf rice combo was a hit for our group. Waitstaff was attentive and food came out fast. This restaurant offers very authentic Vietnamese cuisine, generous portions, lots of options and budget friendly. We will definitely come back to try other dishes on the menu.
