What a great BBQ joint! Fantastic Texans BBQ food! How did I know about this place all this time? This is such a great place for your group of friends and your PUPS to hang out during the day!!! Food was sooooooo good. Portion was soooooo generous. Pull pork sandwich with the heavenly smoked flavor would knock your socks off. Brisket was great! Your world will be rocked ❤

Tried the 1/4lb Tri-Tip, 1/2lb Pork Spare Ribs, 1 link Texas Hot Link Sausage, Red Chili, and the Spicy Cole Slaw. The Tri-Tip was over the top excellent, lean, tender, flavorful, and juicy. The Red Chili was very good Texas authentic, with chunks of tender meat in every bite and had an excellent blend of spices. The Hot Link Sausage was very good, lean, and flavorful and more of an authentic Texas sausage since it wasn't spicy hot. The Pork Spare Ribs are very good, meaty, tender, and lean, but would be excellent if they had more of a smokey flavor. Maybe smoke them longer at a lower temp? The Spicy Cole slaw was good, but is basically just regular Cole Slaw with ground black pepper. Our friend got a Pulled Pork sandwich and Potato Salad and liked them both. On a return visit I plan to get the Tri-Tip and Texas Hot Link Sausage again, and try their Pulled Pork, Texas Green Chili and Potato Salad. Update: Went on Sunday to get the Argentinian food. Got the Smoked Salmon, 1/4lb Lamb, and a bowl of the Green Chili. The Salmon was expensive. It had a nice crisp char, a perfect amount of smoked flavor, and was very juicy. The Smoked Lamb was very tender, lean, juicy, and also had a perfect amount of smoked flavor. The Green Chili was very good Texas authentic, with chunks of tender meat in every bite and had an excellent blend of spices. Our current faves are the Tri-Tip, Smoked Lamb, and Green Chili. Got our 3 faves. Excellent as usual! Also tried the short ribs. Very good! Prices have increased by about 25% for some menu items.

I stopped her first right off the plane i was starving. I loved the atmosphere even though it wasnt many people there and everything was open it was very nice. I ordered a beef brisket sandwich, turkey sandwich and mac and cheese. You get plenty of food and i know i wasnt going to finish any of it. I only had 2 things i didnt like but it wasnt a huge deal the fact that they chop up the brisket for the sandwich and the way the turkey was seasoned with peppercorns and stuff like that but the food was still very good. I wish i would have tried the ice cream but i didnt have any room in my stomach for it and it was a little on the chilly side that night....The staff was very nice and helpful it was a very relaxing place after a 6hr flight. I would recommend this place.

Came here to try something local, I ordered the Pulled pork sandwich, Mac n Cheese and Potato Salad, I also tried all the sauces they have to offer as well. The sandwich came with coleslaw and pickles, the pickles are a little sweet, which I don't mind, I tried each sauce, various times, in my conclusion, the best sauces are the mustard and sweet bbq, Mac n Cheese was good, you can taste high quality ingredients, very cheesy, it is a little on the plain side though, it could use some pepper or bread crumbs, I tried the potato salad and I'm very picky about potato salad, most BBQ spots have decent potato salad so I like to roll the dice, this one didn't do it for me, not a fan of red potatoes and too much vinegar, I did not finish the potato salad. The real star of the show is the meat, the Pull Pork was really good and well seasoned, I enjoyed every bite. Overall for the money I spent, I was a little disappointed, the sides just weren't as strong as the sandwich, the service was quick and the person who took my order was really friendly, I would be interested in trying the other meat options on the menu if I find myself visiting this part of SD again.

Brisket Sandwich was on Point! The Brisket was juicy and very delicious. I've been to the one in Warner springs and it is great too.

Great BBQ joint adjacent to Thorn Street Brewing. On-site meat smoker. The pulled pork was my favorite. Walk up to the counter, order, and find a table while waiting for your food to be prepped.

We had an early dinner on a Wednesday after visiting the San Diego Zoo. No wait time at around 5pm. Food came out quick and hot! Delicious bbq we had beef brisket and pork ribs, nice smoke, sauces on the side for a never ending flavor combo. They have a variety of San Diego craft beer 🍻 ciders and hard kombucha also. Overall a great experience and even greater BBQ.

I had seriously mixed opinions about this joint. The beef rib was thick, juicy, fatty, and a must try! The spare ribs were good. The tri tip sandwhich was plain, but the meat was good. The white beans and bacon had no flavor at all. I like a more vinegary bbq sauce, and the one I tried (the sweet one) did not disappoint. They have like 4 different bbq sauces to try. The fries were ok, again not my favorite. I really enjoyed the dolewhip mimosa. The ice cream was basic, and the chocolate they use for the dipped cone is not good. The chocolate fudge in the sundae is better. Overall, I would eat here again for the beef ribs and to try some different sides.

Most food I tried here was good, but this time
I ordered the Texas hot links borracho style and I was really disappointed.
The casing for the link was way too tough to eat. The sausage itself was also super smoky, more smoky than a bbq item. On the menu, the borracho style with sausage links is advertised to come with two links, but we only got 1 link cut in half on the long. Borracho style was super good though I would never order links again.
Mac and cheese was bomb, I’ll definitely eat this again.
Vanilla soft serve was too watery, would not get again.
Come for lunch to avoid crowds.

What a nice BBQ restaurant in the heart of San Diego. I went to college in Texas and this is so far as close to Texas BBQ that you can get in San Diego. They have a location at Petco Park as well, food was great and nice area to sit and eat. They also have a bar. You order the food at the window on the side, then wait there for them to prepare your food, then sit down.
We ordered extra so we could try a lot of the items. Brisket was moist and juicy, Beef ribs were very large, pork ribs were very tender, the Texas Link was okay, I’ve had it before at the ballgame and it was better. Mac and Cheese and Coleslaw as the side. Overall very satisfied.
