Rosina's Italian Restaurant

We visited Rosinas when we visited San Diego because we were big fans of the original Salvatore's downtown (not fans of the current iteration). Rosinas is run by the same family, and it did not disappoint. The stuffed peppers were an unexpected delicacy, recommended to our table by Rosina herself, so we of course had to try them. There are many Italian restaurants in the San Diego area (and many restaurants that last a few years and then are gone). I don't think it would be a stretch to call Rosinas the best Italian in the SD county area. If you don't take my word for it, maybe the fact that that the dining room was absolutely packed and full on a Tuesday night will convince you. (And yes they have a "no corkage fee special" for Tuesdays, but that's not why it was full!)

Rosina has been close to our neighborhood for years. It is one of the best Italian restaurants among the many we tried. Thats not to say just because its close. The food is flavorful and ingredients super fresh. We always have a good time when we catch up there. At our last visit we tried - the Gnocchi, the eggplant parmigiana, Penne Puttanesca and the Salmon. Everything was delish and the salmon cooked delicate. Charles was our server, he was great as he served everything amicably.

Consider me a new regular. When I pulled up, a beautiful view with hot air balloons and the sun setting. I ordered the arancini and the Rosetta and WOW that was one of those meals that I'll think about for years in the future. Staff was so nice and so attentive. The only thing is that I noticed it was incredibly loud to sit outside when its busy, but sitting inside was perfectly fine.

Love Rosinas, a family owned restaurant; we're returning customers. The food is always fresh & delicious. The pasta is made fresh and we have yet to order something that isn't up to par. Our party was 4 adults and 2 kids under 3yrs old. Although we ate indoors, the patio area was pleasant with the cool breeze blowing and umbrellas shading the tables. The wait staff was great; our waiter was very attentive. We had a full dinner (cocktails and appetizers, entrees and dessert with coffee/cocktail). We also ordered a great bottle of red wine for dinner. The park across the street was great to walk off our dinner and let the kids run around.

We were looking for a nice restaurant close to home, booked a table and arrived in Rozina. I really liked the interior. Rosina explained the menu in detail, we ordered buratta, lasagna and seafood. Dessert was chocolate cake and coffee. Everything was amazing! We will be coming here! Thank you!!!
