This is such a cool spot! The coffee shop has lots of seating and a total neighborhood vibe. Locals come in and are greeted with a beautiful level of familiarity, so warm. As a visitor, I felt equally important to the staff. I went on 2 different days. Coffee is delicious. I had an open face breakfast bagel one day and the Jesuit Napoleon on another, both delicious. Lots of great tables to work out. Laid back easy going feel with fast service. Highly recommend!

One December morning, I biked one beach south to OB to check out the Newbreak Cafe. This charming place feels like home, a labor of love. The man behind the counter gives you the impression that "we are all friends here". They do things a bit different. You are served on fine dishware, but bus your table yourself. Check out the "wall" of tea, dozens of loose teas in jars, each in a nook a massive wall display. Take a jar to the counter, and they will brew you a cup.

Nice cozy coffee shoo and cafe. Great location near pier and lifeguard tower parking lots. Coffee is good. Space to work on laptops.

Right across the beach. Cute and relaxing spot - first timer here and the location was amazing, it was cold out but over all it was a nice spot. I had the breakfast croissant and it was good. The wait time was a little lengthy so don’t expect fast food service.

AMAZING open faced bagel. By far the best breakfast I've had in a long time. And their cold brew is 10/10.

My husband and I stopped here for breakfast the first day of our vacation and loved it so much we went every morning! It’s been a year and I still think about their breakfast lol can’t wait to go back

Going there for years across from beach. Owner is very friendly, coffee is tops like most of their fare. Overgenerous size servings. One thing could be better... eggs are cooked very dry. Takes away flavor an is less than as good as eggs can be in my opinion.

Happy to have this nearby, they have 15 min pick up parking right in front, good everything bagel sandwiches, and egg croissants and good fake meat options! Decent prices, and nice staff! Tried breakfast burrito, subbed bacon for veggie sausage and it was good :)

I cant believe yesterday was my first time visiting Newbreak Café after living in San Diego for over a decade.. I’ve been truly missing out. Warm and welcoming is an understatement, wonderful family run staff. Great coffee and menu selection.

Wonderful little place right across from the lifeguard building next to the pier in OB. Great selection of coffee and nice food. I really enjoyed the Viennese latte and my gf loved her cold brew. We had the veggie sausage sandwich (vegan) and the shukshuka (I think that's what it's called). Both were absolutely delicious and we would get them again.

An ABSOLUTE MUST visit spot in Ocean Beach. Staff is very friendly and the location is right across from the beach so you can grab a cup of Java and enjoy it right on the beach if you'd like. The breakfast burrito was HUGE and tasty. Just need to remember to ask for extra green salsa if that's what you are in to.

Regular visitor to OB from the UK, but this was our first time at Newbreak. Friendly service, good coffee and the best pastries of this trip. We'll be back.

This was our favorite coffee shop on ocean beach… the owner is adorable and helpful. They have vegan options and I recommend the golden milk latte. So every day you see real baklava in a coffee shop. Pick up a book over on the shelf and relax near the beach with your breakfast.
