Lanna Thai Cuisine

I like getting to go orders from here. If dine in is the same as to go service, you'll be treated. Lanna Thai has the largest fresh salad rolls of any Thai restaurant I've ever been to. Definitely to share. The food is, for the portion and quality, probably under priced. The heat scale is relative. 7/10 is nothing and 10/10 is fire. And I'm keen to spicy food.

I love this spot. Everything tasted fresh and delicious! I had take out one night, red curry, and it hit the spot, I had to go back and bring a friend to try some more menu items. Great portions too! The second time we had the yellow curry and drunken noodle with a heat level of 7, with tofu and chicken. It was so flavorful. I was truly impressed. I also had a lychee martini and it did not disappoint. The staff are so courteous and attentive, the place itself is really pretty inside, great for a date, very intimate, and clean. It’s now one of my go tos for Thai in the PB area! And last but not least, they have some amazing prices, especially considering the portions and quality of their food. Day 3 San Diego - Shrimp curry and mango shrimp rolls. Lanna Thai cuisine is a hidden gem. Despite its modest size, the restaurant exudes an air of efficient organization, making every visit a delightful experience. The staff, with their warm smiles and attentive service, create an inviting atmosphere that immediately puts patrons at ease. One of the standout dishes at Lanna Thai is the shrimp rolls with mango cream cheese. This innovative creation strikes a harmonious balance between flavors and textures. The succulent shrimp melds seamlessly with the luscious mango cream cheese, creating a mouthwatering bite that leaves a lasting impression. Equally impressive is the shrimp curry, a testament to the restaurant's commitment to using only the freshest ingredients. The dish bursts with vibrant colors, thanks to an abundance of crisp, tender vegetables that perfectly complement the plump, flavorful shrimp. The curry sauce, rich and aromatic, ties everything together in a symphony of taste. In the end, dining at Lanna Thai is not just about savoring delectable dishes, but also about the overall experience. The combination of a small yet well-organized space, amiable staff, and exceptional cuisine makes it a must-visit for any connoisseur of Thai food.

Every single meal that we had hit the mark. Evening though we arrived late the staff was able to pull tables together for us and did not rush us through our meals. Each staff member had wonderful customer service and were extremely helpful and friendly. The shrimp wok was delicious and highly recommend I only got a 2 on spice. My family loved the surf and turf and island treasures which is a seafood medley with curry sauce. My ultimate favorite part of the entire meal was the dessert of fried bananas with coconut ice cream it is the perfect flavor pairing and textures of sweet banana with a thin lightly fried crust with black sesame seeds and coconut ice cream that is slightly icy and creamy. This is the best dessert I have had in a very very long time. Thank you for making my birthday dinner so special.

I have tried two appetizers and two entrées. I’ll start with the Tom Yum. The broth had excellent taste and delicious flavor. It was well balanced between spice and sweetness. I also tried the Sa-Tay. The chicken was well seasoned and had delicious texture. Combined with the cucumber dip and peanut sauce, it was a well executed combinational dish. Next, I tasted the entrées. The Thai Basil Wok had excellent taste and good flavor. The chicken was slightly over cooked, but the marinate made up for it. Finally, I tried the Power Fried Rice. I asked for 7 out of 10 level spice, but tasted more like 4 out of 10. The dish was also over sweet. It tasted like it was cooked in maple syrup. Despite that, the chicken had terrific texture and great taste. If I had to pick a favorite, it would be the Sa-tay. For it’s delicious, juicy, and well seasoned chicken.
