Had breakfast one morning and my friend and I decided to split an order of pancakes. The waitress was very accommodating and provided an extra plate. Just the perfect amount for us! A couple of nights later we had dinner. My friend being a vegetarian has a tofu dish with veggies and pasta and I had the world famous lobster salad. Both dishes were excellent.

Stopped for brunch and had a great time. There was no wait, the hostess sat us right away. We had the choice, inside seating or outside seating, we chose outside since the weather was perfect. We ordered food and drinks and everything was brought out freshly made. Definitely recommend and would come back whenever I’m in the area.

Absolutely amazing. The Clam Chowder and Lobster Bisque was very good. We sat on the patio,it was beautiful. Our sever surprised my Wife for her birthday with an amazing bread pudding dessert that was killer. Will most definitely be back

I had the sea bass wrapped in potato, amazing. The salad with vinaigrette was so good. The dressing was creamy and delicious. The Prime rib was ok. They have an amazing view of the beach.

Delicious is an understatement! We have been here many times and never disappointed. Today, many of us ordered breakfast for the first time and it was so good. Drinks are great, food is amazing and the views of the ocean bring it all together.

I had the pleasure of dining at this world-famous restaurant right by the beach, and it was an unforgettable experience. I started with the calamari frito as my appetizer, which was perfectly crispy and flavorful, an absolute must-try. For my main entree, I enjoyed the harpoon combination, which was equally delightful. The lobster bisque was another standout, with its rich and creamy goodness. The location by the beach added a beautiful backdrop to the meal, and the attentive wait staff made us feel truly pampered. I highly recommend the calamari frito and the harpoon combination, along with the delicious lobster bisque. I can't wait to return to explore more of their menu while enjoying the stunning seaside ambiance.

A fun, old school restaurant right on Pacific Beach. The service was great. The waitstaff were knowledgeable about the menu and able to help with selections for food restrictions. The drinks were perfect and they had a delicious vegan option, as well as, great fresh seafood options for our whole family. The prices were reasonable too. The tables were a bit unbalanced, but we were on an outside patio, so the ground may not have been level. It’s just kind of annoying to have a tippy table. :)

This place is an amazing little beach front gem. My fiancé and I shared the taco sampler which was absolutely on point. Very fresh and perfectly executed. The atmosphere is amazing here. Sat beachfront and admired the sunset with an unobstructed view. 10 out of 10 would recommend!

I first ate here in 2009. I've not lived in the area for over 10 years, I happen to be within an hour of this place for a work trip. I remember the good food and good atmosphere from 10+ years ago so I stopped by for dinner.
The food is as amazing as I remember. I had the beef short rib which was amazingly tender and delicious. The location right on the beach can't be beat and enjoying dinner while listening to the waves crash is unforgettable.

The food was delicious and portions were huge. The service was great and the waitress (Emma) was very attentive as well! And of course, the beautiful view of the sunset is a great bonus!

Hands down the best food and service in the area. Our server, Audrey, was absolute perfection. Kind, thoughtful, and attentive. She anticipated every need (extra bread to soak up the mouth watering sauce the mussels were soaked in - highly recommend those!) great atmosphere. To every last detail - including the music playing in the background - this was the best meal we’ve had out in ages. The manager on duty, Erin, was also a star. All around great experience.

Right on the beach with indoor and outdoor seating (both covered and not.) The service was great though it took a lot longer to eat here than I thought it would. Guess that's a good thing as I just felt they'd be turning and burning tables.
Lunch starts at 11 so it was nice to arrive just before that, have a cocktail / coffee then have full range of the menu.
The food was okay. The lobster bisque had no lobster and almost tasted cheesey more than anything else. Also, if you advertise it as sherry lobster bisque make sure it tastes like sherry too!
The Crab Cake Florentine Benedict was tasty. I could have done without the bread base honestly as it became a bit heavy. The lobster BLT was probably the highlight and did have a lot of lobster on it ($26).
Overall it's a solid spot and I'd return. It's a big place so while I'm sure there's a wait sometimes it also must move somewhat quickly.

We had a lovely Sunday brunch on the patio looking at the ocean with great service and wonderful. The Cioppino was delicious, and the lobster salad was generous with lobster with a fantastic dressing. Will go again when we are in town!

Food was good, service was great. Unfortunately, they were doing some type of remodeling during our visit and had very loud equipment going throughout our meal. We couldn't even talk to each other much because of the very loud noise. That made the visit much less enjoyable.

Food here is pricey but so worth it.
Pro Tip: Make a reservation an hour before sunset and ask for a table right next to the boardwalk for an amazing view. The prime rib is spot on everytime. Audrey is a great waitress and Ashley is an amazing bartender. Nicole the manager was very accommodating to our request and we couldn't have been happier. Thank you all!

If you ever visit Mission Beach you must visit World Famous! Excellent food. Outstanding service reasonably priced. No pretenses, incredible sunsets people watching, ocean breezes

New personal favorite. Great happy hour deals on apps. but they do ask you buy a drink which is reasonable for the deals they have that are different each day, great tasting Bloody Mary. Definitely try and reserve outdoor seating on the weekend for a great view of the beach.

Read reviews on here and Yelp and decided to bring our kids and both sets of grandparents here to celebrate our twins’ birthday. We called in advance to reserve a table since we were a party of 9 and wanted to sit on the patio. They don’t take reservations but if we arrived at 5 they’d seat us. We did and we’re seated in the bar area...it was on the cusp of the patio so we didn’t complain. I am gluten intolerant and our waitress was well versed on what the kitchen could and could not accommodate. Not a problem until our food came out. The kitchen lobbed a slice of delicious looking bread across the top of my food but made our son’s dinner gluten free (no champagne sauce). Our son said he was hungry and didn’t want to wait for them to remake his dinner, I on the other hand, had to wait. They were beginning to fill up as it was spring break week and the group that was seated next to us proceeded to make a huge deal about us having been sat at their table...not exactly sure what that was all about?
The food was amazing! They brought our boys crème brûlée for their dessert w/ candles. Everyone was very happy w/ our dining experience. Our waitress seemed overloaded as we only saw her once after our food came out. It didn’t diminish our evening as we were there to enjoy each other’s company. I’d come back again

Tried out this spot for breakfast and it was great. You’ll have a beautiful view from their enclosed patio. The service was perfect, the food is delicious. They have a ton of choices—the Lobster Benedict was amazingly good. The Bloody Mary was one of the best I’ve had...there’s really nothing not to enjoy with this restaurant.

Love this place. Our first time going. My husband and I went for our 31st wedding anniversary. I had the filet and lobster. Omg very tasty filet melt in my mouth, lobster very sweet. Service was very friendly. Highly recommend going. We had window seat, watched dolphins jumping in and out of the water. Very blessed day. The Johannesen’s will be going again.

Amazing view and great conversation. No samples but wait staff are good sports for putting up with questions and riddles from difficult patrons.

I had a great time while seated at the bar today. The bar tender himself was legit. Very attentive to all individuals at the bar. Was very friendly!
Food wise I ordered a World Famous Mai Tai

The tacos were fucking amazing. I use to come here with my husband when we first started dating. Taco Tuesday was our favorite night of the week.
We moved to Ohio in 2015 and haven’t been able to make a trip back to Cali since. So it’s surreal being back and feeling so at home again.
But having been able to come here after so much time and it all tasting the same and just reminding me of home....
It was perfect. A great hour spent for lunch!
