Phil's Bbq - San Diego - Photo album

Very lively atmosphere. The food was great. Ordered baby back ribs n chicken dinner w/ 2 small sides (beans n potato salad), and 2 beef ribs. The chicken was ok.... if we come back to SD we'll just order something other than the chicken.
It is absolutely one of the best BBQ restaurants I've visited in California! We beat the crowd when we showed up, but it was still bustling with customers and cooks. We found a seat quickly and enjoyed an overflowing pulled pork sandwich and onion rings. This thing had enough meat for 2 sandwiches
Everyone loves Phil's BBQ! I hadn't been here in over 10 years. Came back for lunch with the family and had a great meal. Go for the beef ribs of course!
Very casual BBQ restaurant with very good food. My first time there came highly recommended by some friends. Be prepared to get very saucy, the meat is very tender it falls right off the bone. I don’t know about having that much sauce on BBQ it is up for a debates. For me personally I prefer the Tex
Great food! We ordered six wings, which were fantastic, the four-rib meal with fries and potato salad, and a Broham (pulled pork) sandwich. The meats were tender and flavorful, and the sides were both high-quality. I didn’t personally love the sauce, but my wife sure did We were seated very quickly
Tonight we sat in the bar area. It was a whole different experience than ordering at the counter. Our server, Roxy, was the best. A gentleman helped too but I didn't get his name. The food? Stop it. So delicious and consistently so. Their fries are #1 .. dipped in their BBQ sauce. Yum. I do
We treat ourselves to Phil's every time we visit San Diego. It's so popular that it's always mobbed and there's a line outside so if that's a problem go for lunch or have an early dinner. All of the food is great but they're famous for their ribs and BBQ sauce. Both their pork and beef ribs are SO g
Solid play, all the way around. Service and food are equal in excellence. 1st time here. Leaving the marina I would always see the long lines..and thought , one day I'll go there. I'm glad I did. Beef ribs so soft you would think they were baby back. Recommend you go if you're within 50 miles or mor
First time at this restaurant, and i was overwhelmed by their menu. After going back and forth on options, settled with sandwiches. All were delicious, but the service was incredible. Dom made us feel welcome and made sure we had everything we needed. A must stop in San Diego.
Average price acceptable taste. What I liked the most: 1- Before the restaurant closing time the staff went around the tables offering free food 🥹 2- They provided take out boxes to allow you take your excess food with you. 3- Refillable beverage any time and anywhere.
There’s a window on the side of the entrance (by the bar) where you can ask for a table and sit for full service! Otherwise you make the line and order the food, sit with a buzzer, and then go pick up your food. Anyway, I had half a rack of the baby back ribs and it was DELICIOUS!! The flavor was s
San Diego native visiting from Washington State. We were surprised by not only the new bar put in place but by the menus. We were seated near Adrian, one of the bartenders. He was such a pleasure to run into. Great attitude, welcoming, work ethic, very knowledgeable. If you walk in, make sure to ask
First I must say BBQ is the best when it has the right spice rub and the right BBQ sauce. Now I love Phil's rub on the rib less and chick less dinner. I enjoy the fries. (I am a fry freak) I have tried the loaded Broham fries, loaded El Toro fries, and the plain fries so let me say again I enjoy the
If you are visiting San Diego, then you need to eat at Phil's BBQ. I am from Arizona and anytime we visit we have to eat at Phil's. It is some of the best BBQ I have ever had. The staff is friendly and awesome. The cornbread is so tasty. I love all their sides.
This was our first time here. You have to order to-go in person. Staff was great. Food was ready quickly. The pretzel was delicious. The wings were dry and 2 were burnt on the bottom. The ribless meal was great. The chicken breast was excellent.
Highlight of our SD trip! Tip 1: Get the fresh pickle! Tip 2: There’s 2 lines!! To Go orders on the left and Dine-in on the right!! Make sure you check the front of the line near the entrance before getting in line, the line that you see wrapping around is typically their dine-in line so you can ski
Anything you get here is amazing! I love Texas Roadhouse ribs but this beats Texas Roadhouse. The way they seat people is unorthodox and seems weird at first but I actually prefer it now because it allows them to seat you quicker. I would describe it as a hybrid system. Very efficient. Keep up the g
Always good to visit Phil's BBQ when visiting San Diego. Food is tasty, service is great and the vibe & atmosphere is great. Plenty of free parking spaces is a plus.
it was my favorite place for ribs...they changed the ordering format to a McDonald's style. The food is good but it became a fast food restaurant. I prefer the old school format where a waiter takes your order.
