Best carne asada fries I've had in California. Huge. Hot. Nice flavors. Well seasoned. Fresh. Friendly service. You can tell the proprietor cares you enjoy your food. Not typical service in California. Hidden gem.

I lived around the corner from here when I was in college. This is the BEST mexican food i've ever had. I've been chasing their california burritos for 10 years and haven't found another one nearly in the same league. Not to mention mi madre that works there...the sweetest women ever. 10/10. So happy to be nearby again.

After working up an appetite on the beach, we were rewarded with a delicious lunch here at La Playa. The service was very friendly. Sweetie had the Oaxacalifornia burrito, which is a big cheesy steak burrito wrapped with a quesadilla. I had combo 2, which included an enchilada and a chile relleno with beans and rice. The food was super tasty, and the red and green table sauces were both awesome. We can't wait to come back to La Playa!

I stayed in Pacific beach for about 4 days and I ate here everyday. The price is pretty good for the area and the food tastes amazing. The owners are also very lovely people.

I consider myself to be a California burrito connoisseur and this place is up there with the best in San Diego. The cheese- melty. The meat- charred and well seasoned. The fries- soft yet fresh. Eat it with red and green salsa doused on every bite.

Great little hidden gem in Mission Beach. Delicious food and friendly service every time. I love their chicken burritos and they always at cheese for no charge. Pleasant dining patio thats great for families as well. I eat here every time I'm in North Mission/PB.

We came to visit from Texas. I've had the opportunity to eat at a lot of taco places. This is now one of my favourites. The most important thing in a restaurant is the customer-employee relationship. The lady at the cash register was helpful. Maybe one day we will come again ✨

The staff was very friendly. Great authentic food and one of the best corn tortillas I’ve ever had. Affordable pricing and brought out hot and fresh. If you’re in the area you have to check it out.

La Playa is located on Mission Blvd, you can't miss it...And you shouldn't miss it. The food was flavorful and the family running the restaurant is nice and friendly. I ordered the Eggs Ranchero with a side of Steak and it was delicious!! This small eatery has out door seating. When we visited the restaurant they were only providing seating outside. They have both covered and uncovered outdoor seating. They were still taking Covid precautions.
