Hodad's Downtown

Really cool place, nice atmosphere. The staff is really friendly and efficient. But the food is what does it! It really hits the spot, so much flavor and the fries are unbeatable! I ordered the mini cheeseburger and a side of fries and I was happy with the portion. They even make lettuce wraps for the gluten-free people. Definitely will be coming back.

Place is good, even it is not in a cool place of downtown, food is DELICIOUS, we order a double cheeseburger and we ask to the server if the burger can be split in 2 so we can share it, and they did it, they even put the half of the onion rings and the half of the burger in separe baskets. Shake is delicious!! is a must!

Just an excellent restaurant all around. The staff was amazing and super attentive + friendly. Food came out quick. The burger was amazing. The patty was just right as it was juicy and not greasy and right amount of seasoning. They did not skimp on the toppings either. The home fries were a great bonus. The atmosphere is certainly unique and chill. The staff deserves a second shout out as they were awesome.

Great burgers & shakes! Very thick and juicy. My party of four ordered two single (patty) bacon cheeseburgers, shareable half frings (onion rings and potato wedges), chicken tenders for the little one, strawberry shake to share, and the Guido burger for myself. Everything was good, fresh, and hot. The portions were so large that it was too much food for us. We totally could have split burgers but nonetheless I appreciate the hearty portion 😊. While I liked the Guido burger it was too much pastrami for me. I personally preferred the bite of my son's bacon cheeseburger better. The onion rings and wedges were on point! Decor of Hodad stickers, old license plates, and other surfy things gave a cool vibe. Practically no wait on a Sunday around 6:30pm to be seated which was perfect. However, our server was slow to take our order and rarely checked on us. I'm so grateful to my spicy brown mustard guy (our inside joke 😋) for picking up his counterparts slack. You, my friend, were amazing! Will definitely stop by again the next time we're in town 🍽️👍🏽

We visited San Diego and we had to try this legendary place. We made sure to go before the dinner rush because it does get super packed. We ordered the double cheeseburger and the frings (fries & onion rings). When our food finally came out I was amazed at how big the burgers were and the portion sizes for the frings. They are more than generous with the portions here and you’re definitely getting your moneys worth. My burger was very juicy and savory and it’s definitely one of the best burgers I’ve ever had. The frings were pretty good as well. This spot was definitely worth the hype and I’ll be coming back here again soon.

Quite easily the best burger I have ever had!!! I am not usually a fan of bacon in my burger but this was thick yet crisp to perfection. I also had the chilli fries and chocolate milkshake. I was not a big fan of these but knocking any star down does not seem right given I went here for a burger that was amazing!
