My go to place for Moules Frites. Delicious broth, plump tasty mussels and fries to die for. Served with French bread to sop up the broth. Paired with a glass of French Voigner. C’est magnifique! Great service and friendly staff.

Cuisinett is like a little slice of France in San Carlos. I have been here quite a few times and it has always been very good. I went this week for lunch with a friend. The food was ample, fresh, and delicious. The owner stopped by more than once to ask how we were and if there was anything he could do for us. So charming to have this level of service. I would recommend this cafe to all.

A quick perusal of the comments on here will tell you much of what you need to know about this restaurant. For a late afternoon idea that turned into one of my favorite meal experiences in California. This is a great choice for anyone looking to be impressed with what can be done with a small space. Welcoming, charming, attentive. I would suggest this place to any and everyone. I will definitely return with my family. When they treat a 4yr. old with respect and without fear, while managing to deliver food she couldn't resist. There is no denying this is a great spot in San Carlos.

Excellent service..friendly staff, charming owner. That said, food was very good. Found the customers were a little noisy at the time I was there, although that added to the atmosphere. Would definitely eat there again when I'm in town.

I only have one word to say! Superb dishes!!! I totally agree with some of the reviews, the owners are one of the most hospitable and friendliest people I've ever known. I happened to be good friends with his wife. The staff are also friendly and awesome customer service. Bread pudding was the bomb!!!! Can't wait to go back again. Thank you.

Butternut squash soup was perfect! They add a touch of cinnamon?!? Really works. And the roasted vegetables side was done just right leaving a tad of moisture. Very impressed considering I just decided to go vegetarian for the next month!

I love this little touch of French happiness! We dine here every time we are in San Carlos. Just wish we had Cuisinett in Atlanta.

Authentic French food.  Always delicious.  Order, then sit in or outside on San Carlos Ave.  Servers then bring your food.  Moules frites always excellent and the Quiche was delicious.

CUISINETT, SAN CARLOS, CALIFORNIA:

An old colleague from India who is now well placed in PALO ALTO, took me out to dinner and remembered my penchant for good French food, so thus we “Arrivi Derci ed into this quaint place in san Carlos called Cuisinett. The ordering routine is a little quirky if not odd - order and pay at the counter, then find a table, and they bring the food to you when it's ready. Ever smiling Staff was very friendly. The food is delicious and absolutely authentic French. I was interested in Beef bourguignon, which is one of many examples of peasant dishes being slowly refined into haute cuisine. Most likely, the particular method of slowly simmering the beef in wine originated as a means of tenderizing cuts of meat that would have been too tough to cook any other way !!!

Beef bourguignon is a stew hailing from Burgundy in France is prepared with beef braised in red wine, traditionally red Burgundy, and beef broth, generally flavoured with garlic, onions and a bouquet garni, with pearl onions and mushrooms added towards the end of cooking. Traditionally, the meat was larded with lardons, but modern beef is sufficiently tender and well-marbled, so this very time-consuming technique is rarely used any more. However, bacon cut into small cubes is still used to produce the initial cooking fat and added to the dish at the end. The Beef was tender and heavenly to taste. The taste still lingers in mouth.

My friend ordered a bottle of good French wine and the steak au poivre with Pomme frites. Sauce was on point & steak was cooked to perfect temp . Frites were great too.

We ended the evening with my favourite Crème Brulee which is basically a dessert consisting of a rich custard base topped with a contrasting layer of hard caramel. It is normally served at room temperature. The custard base is traditionally flavored with vanilla, but can have a variety of other flavorings. Belive me it was torched to perfection. YUM it was………………………..

Food was good especially with the ambience of sitting on the side walk and watching the sunset

Loved everything about this place.

Food-8/10

Ambience-9/10

Service-7/10 Ever smiling waiters who have a good memory, after all. Suggestions of the waiter would have made it better.

Value for money-8/10

Recommend this place to all and I am going to visit it more and more…………

The ordering routine is a little quirky - order and pay at the counter, then find a table, and they bring the food to you when it's ready. Staff is very friendly. The food is delicious and absolutely authentic French. We tried the lunch. Big servings of kid favorites for the kids. Our croque monsieur was tender inside, crisp outside. Poulet roti came with a choice of classic sauces. Moutarde perfect. Good choice of wines - mostly French, of course. Prices fair for what you get.

Great new addition to San Carlos. My family (2 young children) and I have had quite a few meals at Cuisinett. The food, atmosphere and service are all spot on. There's enough variety without being overwhelming and the quality of the food is top notch. The concept of lining up to order before getting a table takes about one minute to get used to, but then after that it all works. We have found the owner to be welcoming and genuinely thankful for our patronage.

I'd recommend Cuisinett to anyone who wants a quick bite or for those who want to linger a bit for conversation and a glass of wine.

We had a wonderful and relaxing lunch outside at Cuisinett Bistro today. The food (as always) was delicious and well prepared. The service- exceptional, friendly and attentive but not intrusive. The owner is clearly hands on and cares about his customers satisfaction. With something for everyone, it is a delight to be able to enjoy their French menu!

Great outdoor seating. Love their little market inside! My wife enjoys the entire menu. I tend to get the quiche or burger. Both are solid choices.

Our whole family can always agree on Cuisinett. It’s the go to. A couple of us have high expectations and are picky but everyone loves Cuisinett! Excellent diverse menu. It goes so well with French wine too, and they have half bottles. The staff are always friendly and efficient. It’s no wonder they’ve been in business for a long time.

I had a delicious lunch with my friend here. Food is very tasteful, staff is friendly and ambience is charming. Great place for quiche, salads, fish and desserts. I’m not giving 5 only because space on tables are very tight, but I will definitely come back soon. Also, you can have food to go if you want.

Any food lover will love this place. Cozy atmosphere serving French food that is tasty and carries the French finesse. Add the wine or the beer choices, it is a great place. No fanciness but pure food taste. The manager and serving staff are helpful and cordial. You need to choose the dish from the menu and then pay for it before sitting down. Usually pretty busy and parking may be right at times. Worth it.

This is one the most authentic French Bistrots I know in the Peninsula. The owner is French himself and he has on his menu some of the most traditional French dishes from all of French corners. My favorites include Moules Frites, Sandwich Parisien and the French Burger with Goat Cheese!
