The Shack

This place has a wide variety of burgers, hot dogs, corn in the cup, chili, and more on the menu! I settled on the Macho Burger, and was impressed by it's size and juiciness of the meat. The bun was thick and soft, but there's just something keeping the whole thing from being great. The meat needed a little extra seasoning and the bun would be oh so much more delicious if they would toast it on the grill a bit... Maybe if I ask next time? 🤔 The fries, on the other hand, were perfectly seasoned , hot and crisp! With so many items on the menu, I'll definitely be back!

When I'm in San Antonio and see a burger joint I haven't tried, if I'm hungry, I give them a try. Today I saw "the shack" and saw they had good reviews so I figured I'd try it out. This place was clean, staff was friendly and it had the typical burger joint vibe going on. Prices were average. I got the bacon cheese burger and daughter got a plain cheese burger. We're both agreed, the patties were a bit on the over cooked/dry side. The bacon on mine was under cooked for my tastes. The patties were of good size and hand formed. They were a little shy on the amount of fries but nothing too bad (just not five guys amount). The fries were also not fresh cut. Pretty sure they were were frozen out of a bag style. Still good, just not fresh cut. Burger would rate a 7 out of 10 and the fries would rate a 6 out of ten. I'd still say this a good burger joint, just not Bobby J's, lords burger or Chris Madrid's good. I'd put it just below five guys good. Recommended.

Went to the shack today & awesome as always tried the shack burger was great thick patty ham avocado on a brioche bun 1 thing I love about the shack they change up the side you pick I had the corn in the cup. I can honestly say I usually eat a double or even triple burger other places but here 1 patty does it very filling & under $12 cant beat it ....for dessert definitely try the strawberry with shack cream yes thousands of calories but Well Worth it!! GO SUPPORT!!!

Pretty good burger place. We went on a Sunday night and the place was full. Ordering was easy and staff friendly. Overall the burgers were solid. The highlight of this place is the variety of desserts. We had a sno-cone, Italian ice, a churro order, and a funnel cake. Where you gonna get a choice like this unless you go to the state fair? If you don't want to break the bank to take the family out and want something other than the chain places, The Shack will work! I am not in agreement with all the 5 star reviews....come on Local Guides... you can do better! Solid 4 stars.

We tried this place for the first time on Tuesday & it was a great experience. The employees were so friendly & helpful. The food was delicious & had so much to choose from. The only bad thing is how small the seating area is. They did have a nice outdoor seating area, but it was too windy to utilize it that day.
