This used to be our GO TO barbacoa spot. They used to have almost all beef in the servings with very little of any fat. Lately, that’s not the case. The barbecue even tastes a little different. Maybe they changed vendors? Anyway, this will be our last visit having gone at least 5 times this past year with the same results. We just want the old Rios back!

Great food
Okay so walking into this location isn't that nice....a lot of work needs to be done just to brighten up the initial impression that a customer can have walking in.
The two guys working today were cool & kind. Professional doing a great job.
The order was ready in seconds.
The pico was pretty good ..not too spicy not too bland...
The barbacoa was delicious....I understand why the fat is left in the to go cup...but honestly draining some of that would make it easier to finish..
San Antonio Saturday tradition
Must eat

Decent, close to us and convenient. But tried to order curbside and was told they don’t do curbside. Since covid we’ve been doing curbside there, but they had a lazy boy working that didn’t want to do it today . He said they dont do curbside , which is not true. Got someone to go get some for us and i ordered all meat got alot of fat and gristle in it. Tried to pick it out but it was impossible the bottom was about an inch of grease . 🤢 we has to trash it. Not to mention it was expensive since we ordered 2 pounds to share. So we won’t be going there anymore. Will be trying Papi’s or Alamo down the street, hear they are pretty good.

Barbacoa is always good. I feel the tamales have been on a downward hill for some time. This morning they were dry, salty, and they were more maza than anything else... I mean the maza and meat ratio was not ideal. They were edible, but definitely not their best tamales.

In 2019 we first purchased Rios Barbacoa and was actually good with a little salt added for taste on our end. Since covid-19 began the barbacoa has been horrible with the few times we have gone. We are currently looking for another barbacoa location instead. Also its too expensive when it comes to price vs quality. In fact for us HEB barbacoa tastes better than Rios Barbacoa and thats never a good thing when its supposed to be the MAIN product you specialize at and they can't be consistent even in that.

Rios barbacoa used to be the best in town, lately it hasn't been as good, not as flavorful, they also raised the prices through the roof, I have to take out a couple of loans to payoff the 1/2 lb of bbq I purchased-seems like they bought cheaper barbacoa but still raised the price, bad business practices- won't be coming back!

The barbacoa here is excellent. Not as fatty and greasy as a lot of other places. And their menudo is fantastic. But you have to go early to get the menudo because it's my understanding that it sells out quickly. The staff is also very friendly here. Melanie helped me with my order quickly and with always a smile.
