Brewer's Grill

After shopping at the mall my daughter and I wanted a bite before home. We shared the street tacos. The chicken was better than the pulled pork. I had the pineapple cider which was delicious. It wasn’t packed and the service was just fine. No complaints. We’ve been coming here since it was called The Tap Room.

This place has a good selection of beer on tap, they also carry wine and have a full bar. Since this place has opened the food quality has slowly declined. My last visit in, the fish and chips changed and is not good at all. They do have karaoke nights which are generally entertaining, outside patio is nice with dim rope lights to help cozy up the environment. Staff are always friendly and easy to talk too. The beer menu rolls on flat screens, which is slightly annoying and for me is hard to follow, I prefer a menu to look at, though I do realize this helps cut down on paper waste.

So we usually go here every Wednesday for trivia and we LOVE this place. But tonight was disappointing. Our friend showed up to save us a seat and he was given water and ignored until we showed up thirty minutes later. We ordered our drinks (they didn’t have their Ocean Water but it wasn’t on them so I wasn’t upset) and our food shortly after. Our waiter was very nice though and I really did like him a lot. The girl wearing the pink shirt looked like she wasn’t even wearing shorts and checked our waters but it took another 40 minutes or so and our appetizers came out at the same time, which is why it took so damn long. They also didn’t even get the order right and the girl said “oh” and like walked away. The guy who had taken our orders earlier was definitely great about it and handled it very nicely. The girl also told us she’s bring us silverware and napkins and never came back. The waiter did though. Like I said, he was really nice. Our food was cold when it came from sitting though. So tonight wasn’t the best experience.

The staff is very helpful and service is great. Karaoke and other bar games are available on certain nights. Drink specials and food made to order make this a great place for after work to refill your tank. Outdoor patio is also great if you need to get a breath of fresh San Antonio air. Bring your friends and enjoy a large selection of brews.

I really wanted to like this place. Took a seat at a table in the bar area and didn't realize that we had to order at the bar, even though every party around us was getting table service. Okay, cool. I ordered drinks at the bar and at that time I asked for a food menu. We had been there 2 days previous and thought the food looked very tasty and made a plan to try it the next time we visited. We placed an order for wings and waited. At first we thought they were just slow until a party that came in after us recieved their food. We were completely overlooked and disregarded for over an hour and a half. When I went back to the bar settle my drink tab and raise concern about my lack of service, all I got was an offer to place a carry out order. As a person visiting this area for business, it was made very clear that this is a spot for locals only.
