Firehouse Subs

I visited the Potranco/1604 store this trip. I Had a Medium New York Steamer Sub. The bread was very fresh, although I would say the meat was just average; it tasted more like lunch meat to me then authentically fresh sliced corned beef and pastrami. That having been said, the restaurant itself appeared to be pristinely clean, and the staff was very courteous. Firehouse Subs STILL has Subway beat hands down overall in my opinion. I'll definitely visit again.

Nicest and most fun employees who are so friendly that you never want to go anywhere else! This location is the cleanest I have seen of any restaurant anywhere in San Antonio. They consistently score perfectly with the health department on cleanliness. And the sandwich skills are on point! Other eating establishments tend to just throw your food together, most of the time ignoring special requests. These guys demonstrate their professionalism by carefully preparing each order individually and perfectly. Whoever is the owner of this particular franchise location, I would welcome them reaching out to me so I can communicate personally how extraordinarily fortunate for them that they have managed to hire and retain a fabulous team with such wonderful standards and work ethics!

I got a medium spicy cajun chicken without onions. It was so good! I really like spices though, so if you don't I might encourage you to get something else. I'm not a big mayo fan but they put the right amount on & it also was spicy which I loved. My boyfriend got the club on a sub. He said it was ok but nothing special.
