Krispy Kreme

One of the few Krispy Kreme locations left. I am originally from the mid Atlantic region, so I am very familiar with Krispy Kreme for many years. Their donuts are superior to Dunkin by a mile. You can also see a tremendous difference from the "knock off" versions of the glazed and filled donuts at Walmart or HEB deli. (You can get Krispy Kreme at Walmart, but it is not as fresh as at an actual franchise location like this one.) The City Base location has an efficient drive through. People are cheerful and efficient. Donuts are fresh and delicious.

Very clean and spacious. Nice variety of doughnuts and drinks and the prices were reasonable. Staff was the best part! Very friendly and made sure we knew what we were paying for the items/combos. We got a half dozen doughnuts, and then an original glazed iced coffee and a frozen mocha latte. Iced coffee had just the right amount of sweetness. Frozen latte was more like a milkshake and was a little too sweet but that’s personal preference. We will be back next time we are in San Antonio :)

Good big friendly reminds me when I showed up & besides seeing how the doughnuts were made you got to also get a free doughnut when you entered but I'm assuming that cause of COVID that's why they stopped & I got feedback that this location from the employee that they get their doughnuts from the DeZaval location. Oh well looked nice & enjoyed going inside.

Update: I went to this Krispy Kreme on 15 August 21 for a revisit. They were out of the raspberry filled donuts 🍩. However, they did have their new signature promtional donuts the smores. However, everytime I visit this Krispy Kreme they seem to always be out of some type of donut. I know its more later in the evening. However, I would recommend to management to update their production schedule to supply the demand of the rasberry filled donuts. Lastly, the staff was nice and made alternative recommendations that worked out in the end. I increased the experience from three to four stars. ----‐---------- This was an average experience. Although I went to this location in the evening they were almost out of all donuts. I almost decided to leave but ended up purchasing a dozen. This location needs to do a better job with managing stock throughout the whole day. Customers in the morning should be just as important as customers in the evening. Also, they need to bring back the powdered strawberry donuts as a normal item. I don't know why they got rid of it but its one of the reasons I stopped going to Krispy Kreme all together.
