I absolutely adore this restaurant. Their Jollof rice with beef is the best I have ever tried, and I've tried several different west African restaurants. Kobam's Grill has the juiciest beef tips with a sauce that I could about drink. They always graciously provide me with an extra serving of the sauce. I love the plantains it comes with as well. My boyfriend says it has the best Egusi soup , and we always order two of their meat pies. All of it is so delicious!

The food was very tasty, it took some time for the food to be brought out, but we knew it was being made fresh. Prices as other similar ethnic restaurants are much higher than what you would expect on non-ethnic food style. Definitely would be returning, but maybe once every 2-3 months.

The food is full of flavor! I really enjoyed the meat pie, chicken, rice and vegetable rice. I gave it less stars because it was a long wait time, it seemed like they didn't have enough staff for the amount of people they were serving. They also just served everything on disposable plates. Limited drink selection, with good choices. Bring cash if you get the meat pies.

Amazing food and service! First time trying an authentic African meal and it's now one of my favorites. The staff were very helpful and gave us suggestions and explanations on what we may like. Highly recommend the beef patties and jollof rice! Not to mention, huge portion sizes! Can't wait to come back.

The best African cuisine I've had in a very long time! My friend ordered the catfish. I had the beef pattie, jollof rice n plantains. Delicious! The jollof rice is very spicy, so be aware if your spice tolerance is low. The owner is most hospitable n gracious. The atmosphere is warm n inviting. The kind of comfortable place where you can sit n relax, eat, n talk for hours... Felt like being at my Auntie's house. The generous portions had me eating this yummy rice n plantains with leftover steak for lunch today!

Excellent! What a wonderful experience. The owner is a very nice lady who did everything to accommodate my request for a non-spicy meal. She recommended the vegetable stew with chicken and fufu - which was delicious! My husband ordered okra stew with beef, which was also spectacular. Give them a try! Don’t be intimidated by the torn up parking lot :)

I will come back the food is very flavorful I loved it. The best part was having I believe the owner coming out to check on us and make sure we knew how to eat everything properly. The restaurant is clean and they have very very good outstanding vibes. Nothing to complain about I loved it.

Our first experience and our food was phenomenal. If you love SPICY food ask to make it spicy. We ordered the meat pie (Made fresh by employee). If you plan on ordering this bring Ca$h or have your Cash App/Zelle ready. My wife ordered Jollof Rice with chicken and it was cooked to perfection. Now for the finale, I ordered the Egusi soup with beef as my protein and FUFU!!! Literally the coolest dish I’ve eaten. Never had so much fun playing and eating my food LOL.

This is the best food I’m San Antonio. PERIOD. I came to enjoy some good food and left with a life changing experience. The jollof was the best I ever had which says a lot. The flavor was unmatched. Words don’t describe the flavor explosion that took place in my mouth. I will be returning often.

Walking into this place it has a nice atmosphere, staff was nice and prepared, and even remembered some guests from a previous visit! (They invited me) My guest let me try their fufu an okra soup and it was awesome!! I had tried their beef entre, and I swore I could handle the challenge, but ultimately had to take it to go, but it was very interesting to try! I did not expect the flavors that were there! Definitely coming back for more!

I saw Kobams mentioned on a Facebook group I'm part of and I was curious about its foods. I've had Ethiopian food before but not sure how different this would be. Today, my husband and I decided to order some food to go. I knew I wanted to try the jollof rice since a few reviews mentioned it was good and I totally agree. It's got some spicy kick to it though so you've got to be ready for some heat. Had it been any spicier, I wouldn't have been able to eat it. I ordered the grilled chicken, goat and whole tilapia, all with jollof rice. Very generous portions of jollof rice so we have plenty to eat for a few days. The goat was both our favorite. Very tender and looked like oxtail with the bone. The chicken and tilapia had good flavor but was slightly overcooked. Loved the plantains that come with the meal. I was curious about the Jamaica ginger beer and Vita Malt but was told that they're on the sweet side. I chose not to try. When the weather cools down further, we would be curious to try the soups.

Awesome find! I'm not familiar with much African food, the nice woman at the counter said it's Nigerian. Count me in! My dish was a "soup" it seemed maybe like a stew? to me. It was very well spiced. It's a finger food and comes with a large ball of dough. I wasn't a big fan of the dough ball. However, i used the remnant of my beef patty and 👌 that was excellent! My nephew had the fried rice w/chicken. It had an awesome Red sauce. I kept asking him for nibbles of it. What really capped it off was the plantains, I'm not a "picky" guy at all, but I worked in a Jamaican place when I was younger and I do expect a lot if a place will offer plantains.. These were great!! The light sweetness perfectly balanced the spiciness of our two dishes. The price was very affordable, and for the portion size I'd say quite good. A previous reviewer stated there wasn't a lot of meat, while true, the meat portion was all that was needed. The only thing I would say was just "ok" was the meat patty, I like mine to be spicier. I would still recommend them as they were large and fresh. I will take my dad there as soon as I can. I expect to upload more photos shortly. Enjoy!!! Fyi- The young man that served us and the woman (chef?) that helped at the counter, had very thick accents... I didn't always catch the specific word(s), but honestly we communicated just fine.

My first experience with Nigerian food, and this place is awesome! First, it looks nicer than the pictures I've seen in other reviews, they've improved how comfortable the seating area is, and it looks better. I will say this place is spicy, not too much, but if you don't like spice probably find another restaurant. All the drinks are bottles/cans, including the water. They were out of the appetizers, but I ordered a side of moi moi (steamed bean pudding) which the table shared. And then I ordered the ogbono soup with fufu. My entree was the strangest food I've ever eaten, but I ate all of it. It was a slimy soup with amazing flavor, then it's paired with fufu, which tastes like really thick mashed potatoes. This place is for the adventurous, don't be a chicken.

Delicious and comforting food. The meat pies were good too but we ate them too fast. The lady was really sweet with us, 10/10 Thank you for being so welcoming!!

The food we had was great. Next time we're in San Antonio I'll make sure we stop here again.
