I was just cruising around looking to take a break from the leftover turkey looking at me in the refrigerator. I thought of sushi, and after a quick search, Hanzo popped up not too far from where I was. It's kinda tucked away in complex with other restaurants/businesses. But once inside, I was greeted by the welcoming staff. During my visit, it was right at opening time, so it wasn't busy at all. I quickly found a seat and asked for suggestions from the wait staff. The food and drinks quickly came out. Everything was great. I definitely recommend coming out and taking advantage of their happy hour.

This place is one of my favorite places in San Antonio! The staff is very welcoming, the food is delicious, and the drinks are amazingly tasty! All the bartender are attentive, even if you don't know what to drink. Sometimes I just go in and tell them how I'm feeling and they will curate a drink based on that. They have never disappointed me with a cocktail.

Hanzo is a great spot to go for a night out with friends or for a casual date night. While this Asian-inspired bar serves up a variety of drinks (including house cocktails, various sakes, and Japanese beers), they also have a food menu which features items such as bao buns, sushi and more. We tried the fried pork gyoza and 3 sushi rolls- all were absolutely delicious! My husband ordered the Rhubarb G&T but substituted the gin for tequila, and he really enjoyed the unique taste!
On a Sunday night around 9pm, this bar was pretty packed and had a diverse group of customers. The service from the staff was excellent and the music and dark lighting created a very relaxing atmosphere. Highly recommend!

Someone recommended Hanzo for happy hour and I stopped by with some friends and we loved it!
I had the Fried Tofu Poke Bowl, the Sake Bomb, the Stop Collin me and the Cherry Limeade and it was all delicious.
The service was also great, they were very attentive and kind! We asked a billion questions too and they were very patient lol
Definitely stop by and check out Hanzo, you won’t regret it!

Great place with very chill vibes! Definitely coming back here! They’re fire breathing roll was amazing and their drinks were great! The staff seems very chill and helpful. There is limited seating inside so we sat at the bar but there is a lot of seating outside as well! Definitely coming back and would recommend to anyone to visit!

Absolutely excellent meal. We spent the morning here before they opened to use their projector for a meeting. The staff was very accommodating. We finished our meeting with lunch and it was wonderful!! I will definitely be coming back with my friends and family.

My friend and I try a new one every time we visit. The 210 Roll is my favorite Sushi roll so far; I hope they bring back the spicy salmon roll because that one was magical as well. Overall great place to vibe out, and the warm lighting adds to the super relaxing ambiance.

This is a delightful and delicious restaurant. With happy hour 5-7 most weekdays it makes you want to order more. Cocktail was spot on, Asian old fashioned. And it must be the spot because everyone had cocktails. I started with the chicken Bao buns, the bun was fluffy and soft with the chicken crispy and a nice contrast. The miso dressing didn’t overwhelm but was a nice mild flavor. I wanted a whole plate of them. Then I had 210 sushi which was yummy with a little kick, just the right balance. The inside decor is worth the visit. Super fun and very true to the culture. The entrance is tucked away but just keep going. It’s worth a visit. Wish the menu was a touch more expansive, the website and on site menus differed a little. One is seasonal. I will definitely go back.

My boyfriend and I came here for our first time really excited to try this place. It’s small so it fills up quickly after opening. We waited outside until there was a place to sit for about 45 minutes, no problem. 2 seats became available at the bar top so we go inside to sit. We are stopped by a server who puts her hands in front of the chairs to block them and says “sorry someone is sitting here”. We look around confused and her coworker comes over and says “no it’s okay I’m about to leave” and she asks him “are you sure? I’m trying to help you out”… my bf and I stand there still confused and the worker says for us to go ahead and sit because we will definitely “spend more than he will”.. the server seemed annoyed that we sat there and not him. We weren’t greeted for a while but they were very busy as it was a Friday night. We ordered the firecracker shrimp which was amazing! Our bartender seemed to be in a bad mood but after observing the bar I could see that she was the only one actually working so I understand why she was annoyed. Would be 5 stars if it weren’t for the strange first encounter with the server.

Probably one of the best Happy Hours in SATX! Gosh, where to start? The atmosphere, and food ought to be awarded because it is that good! My wife and I stumbled upon it and their offerings are top notch. We enjoyed the drinks and sushi rolls! The service, however, could use some work because we had to wait over 30 mins in between orders since the kitchen was either short staffed or backlogged. I wish it isn’t the case for long because the experience was good.

Japanese/Gaslight style bar, with a fun adult style energy. Excellent drinks, delicious snacks, and wonderful service. A great place to come for date night, or just to unwind from a long days work. Richard took care of us (bartender) he gave us unique and eclectic recommendations and gave superb customer service. Would definitely recommend to locals as well as tourists.

Hanzo is an especially good bar that falls just short of a great one. The theme works well. Japanese influences are found in the finger food like gyoza, and in the drinks where they serve up suntory owned spirits. The service is efficient, friendly, and fast. Anime is playing inside which might upset the mood of a cocktail bar, but does add more Japanese influence. Use their patio when it's nice outside because it's the best spot to lounge.

Hidden gem that's literally hidden from street view. Service is phenomenal as people come by and take any empty plates or glasses (sometimes seemingly empty). The food and drinks are delicious, though the portion sizes are small, given the pricing.

Delicious food and great service. They also have a great happy hour and a full bar. The Salmon Avocado roll was delicious. We also had the Seafood Dip, Spicy Salmon Roll, Spicy Edamame, and Egg Rolls which were really good.

HAPPY HOUR! The best for a much lighter fare than we had been eating all week. Punch Drunk Love was amazing. 210 roll was fire! Loved it!
Everyone was great... EXCEPT one bus boy/expediter that would just run by and throw your food on the table...don't ask for something extra from this guy...he had to take out his ear piece (for music) just so he could hear me ...not very customer focused.
Other than that, I'd for sure go back!

Just hands down, all around, fantastic! Went for happy hour.. The bartenders (both very nice ladies, who's names I regretfully did not get) were AMAZINGLY good at their craft! Both knowledgeable and able to make a really great drink, I was extremely impressed and satisfied with my visit to Hanzo. According to Google, this is my second time there, but since I only remember this visit, that's all that matters!! Guess I had a good time last go round... But, yeah, honestly, great food and great drinks for really nice prices. Oh! Spicy Pineapple Tequila. Do it. You're welcome. This place rocks for Happy Hour!

I’ve visited quite a few times and I love it, they have the best happy hour. Several options, dimly lit, music is always a vibe. The drinks are made to perfection, I spent my birthday here at the stroke of midnight and it was the best. Always enjoy coming here!

Really wanted to like this place. Came here with my wife after driving in from New Mexico. Music was good as was the decor. The drinks were fairly good but kind of pricey for how much you were getting, especially the saki. The bad part was the food. The lotus root chips were ok but a little too greasy. We then ordered the Big Kahuna Roll. The roll was basic, on the smaller size of average, and the rice was not prepared well. It was the cost of $18.50, however, that made it truly a ripoff. You can get a better roll at one of the better restaurants in town for half the price. I shared an "Are you kidding me?" look with my wife and asked the waitress for the check. Before we left, the waitress decided to top off my drink and ended up spilling my saki on the table. That pretty much summed up the evening at Hanzo. Had high hopes for the place, will not be returning.
